To exceed light speed, one must bend space, not travel across it, but through it. When space is folded, you can shoot through multiple layers instead. Instead of thinking of Interstellar travel, you have to think of inter dimensional travel. "hyperspace" is a form of it, like in Star Wars where the stars become streaks, that is the folding of the universe. You aren't accelerating into it, but being launched into it, pulled from one dimension into the other. Thats why the ships disappear and reappear suddenly. You would think a sudden stop when the ship appears would slam everyone against a bulkhead and turn them into silly putty, but reality is, the ship is not braking, just appearing in normal space.

Once someone figures out how to bend space, then interstellar travel will happen, until then we are relegated to sub light speeds, provided a proper engine is designed. Up until the second to last Episode, the Star Wars universe was pretty good, then they defied physics when the ship ran out of fuel and slowed down. That entire episode blew up physics, with bombers dropping bombs in space, ships slowing down when they ran out of fuel, and hyperspacing into another ship like that. Until then Lucas had a pretty good grasp on physics and space travel. I bet he cringed, put his head in his hands and cried when he saw how much they screwed that up.

Once someone figures out how to fold space/time, the possibilities are endless. Is it frequency based, where a crystal is used to create a wormhole of a sort? Don't know, but pretty fascinating stuff when you think about it.

You go to warp / light speed + Send me a postcard dated a day after landing. Then I might go. I like to watch the leaders do it first. Then a promotion is easier when they fail.

Another theory is when you bend space/time, it removes all light, so you travel through a black tunnel. Bet that would be Very boring.

Well back here on earth I finally, after so many years, got my Corsair clear coated and the ailerons and flaps done. All I have left now is mount the Radial and install the radio gear. It's only been 6 or 7 years since I started it.

Donny, in your signature block you list your location as Manor, Texas, but your heart is in Brooklyn, N.Y. Perhaps it would be more accurate to say for location,

"My heart is in Brooklyn, N.Y, but the rest of my body voted for a warmer climate. Manor, Texas."

24* this morning. The weekend was warm 55* but extremely windy, and it was COLD yesterday and even windier. Supposed to warm up into the 60's this week and be 65 this weekend. Perfect weather to wash the trailer and get it covered, but unfortunately it goes into the shop on Wednesday instead. I just hope when I get it back that I can wash it before covering it.

On the flip side, more shop time on the weekends. Can finish my Corsair finally.

Well guys I now have internet and telephone again! The bad news is I won't be shutting down the generator anytime soon, the electric company estimates I'll have power restored at 11:40 AM this Friday.

Owing to severe computer problems the contributor previously known as Telemaster Sales UK has had to re-register under his own name!

I am alive and suffering from a cold, living with Miss Blue Eyes in Somerset in the South-West of England, at least till December. We are building a Super 60 while the rain beats against the windows.

If you haven't already voted gentlemen, please do so today. A lot of very brave men and women died so that the rest of us may play a role in choosing our leaders.

There is an interesting thread over on RC Groups, "Three Sergeants and a Hurricane."

A Scotsman is building a model of a Hawker Hurricane which was flown at different times by three Scottish sergeant pilots. He incorporates in his build blog accounts of what happened to these men. It goes on for over 500 posts but I found it interesting.

Sorry, I'm not allowed to post a link until I have put up ten posts under my new identity.

Sorry to hear about the computer problems and the cold! If it makes you feel better I have had no power from the electrical utility since Monday last due to a record breaking ice storm (I own a generator to keep the essentials going).I got my phone and internet back yesterday. Some of the damage if you care to see: My son from Kansas owns the white Tahoe he came down Tuesday night and stopped at Lowe's in Wichita to pick up two 20" chainsaws because they were sold out here. He and his brother and our unofficial adopted son had to clear the drive to park. Several surrounding streets were completely blocked. Power won't be back on until this Friday.

What a mess trees make. I found one of my garage windows broken, the outer pane, from when we had a storm rip through a couple months ago that took down part of the willow tree. The wind storms we had over the weekend left a lot more dead branches all around the house too. At least we didn't get ice.

After careful examination and consideration I have determined I have made the absolutely positively correct move to this warmer locale. no way I deal with the ice and snow again.

Now as far as this light speed stuff, How one folds space is a whole subject unto itself all I know is it was once said if god wanted man to fly he would have given him wings, we'll never break the sound barrier, and we can't do one thing or the other.
well I believe mankind has no limitations whatsoever other than his will/imagination. negative thoughts is the primary reason for the non progressiveness in this world. one day mankind will stop killing each other and put his efforts toward more positive endeavors. I have traveled half way around the world only to find out we all seek the same thing. so why do we force our wills on others?

Today we vote! and many think if the other guy wins we will go down the tubes and is prepared to go to war to get it his way ........................... A true sign of Insanity. Keep the faith.
