Back to Lipo fires.... Concerns of lipos catching on fire generally a charger is involved is still a real world potential, however if you buy a charger that shows individual cell volts to the third decimal place you can cut those risks down further.
One item of note that chargers I avoid is those that just charge each cell to their individual 4.20VDC potential, then at the termination of charge it then switches to a discharge state to balance the pack cells to the weakest link. Typical 3 decimal place chargers will work in a different and I feel much safer style in that on the way up in charge state the cells are kept in check as they move up to the 4.20VDC termination point and there really is no discharge balance as they were terminated charge balanced.
I have 15 chargers in my RC trailer, three grandsons and myself will charge/discharge over 50 packs in a 3 hour weekend fly all variety 2s-4s, brands and capacity. all chargers set to 2c, if a pack cannot accept that rate the charger does not push it to that rate is my observations. Been into Lipos now 15+ years and feel I know them and there unique traits as well as nicads from the first 30 years in this hobby.
If you have puffing cells on a charger,????,,,, junk that charger, puffing can occur on extreme discharge in model and overheating from lack of ambient air cooling, I've pushed them that hard on occasion or the grandkids forget timed flights, While the pack does sustain damage in that it will not output a max wattage that it used to but still is a mediocre pack AND you can get the puffy packs back flat by pushing them hard with a prop change to they get warmer than preferred then stick them in a cooler on ice packs they will shrink up flat, reshrink the covering then unload them at the next swap meet,,,, LOL just kidding we use then in a gentler fashion.......

Don't forget the added advantage of glow if you occasionally lick your fuel soaked fingers the glow fuel will help your regularity!

Getting staples out of the leg this morning!

With all the cows near me, our area is doomed. All those cow farts far exceed anything else.
BTW this IS all tongue in cheek because the "Climate change" agenda is nothing but a money grab. The Polar bears are fine, and temps are now starting to reverse. LOL
As far as regularity, hell, just getting a lung full of the caster laden exhaust from what my friend runs was enough to clean my colon.

A Boeing 737 burns roughly 5,000 pounds (750 gallons) an hour. The well-to-do takes their private 737 to a 5 hour destination for 10 hours R/T or 1,500 gallons of Jet-A.

Ooh, wicked me and my Ringmaster.

Think of all the money your friends are saving you! You would have to pay big bucks at one of these snake oil health spas for that kind of cleansing!

Back in the '70s when I was in grade school we were heading into another ice age! I guess the elites couldn't figure out a way to make money off of that.

More irony, the Pacific ocean has cooled down more this year, leading to a stronger than average la nina, which means a colder winter. Wasn't all the rage over burning dino the green house gasses that cause the oceans to get warmer?

idk, but is the arctic still melting?

It always melts, every year. This year though was lower melt, on par with the 1981 period. Arctic melt is cyclic, just like everything else on the planet. Solar plays a huge part in it. The sun is in a cooling phase, so the next few years will see a decline in global temps.

Stopped bleeding in 5 minutes, was near totally healed in 10 days.
((we're not talking about WHO the idiot was that did this))

I sure do miss Wildcat. It had a pleasant smell to the exhaust, almost like cologne. I pointed out the Klotz candle a few times to my wife. She smelled it once and said NO, quite emphatically at that. Gee, I wonder why.

Took my Flair Harvard (SNJ-4) and Seagull ARTF Boomerang trainer to the flying field yesterday. These are powered by an OS 61FS and a Thunder Tiger 46 PRO respectively. There was a good turn out but only one other model, the club's ARTF trainer, was powered by an i/c engine. Sign of the times I suppose.
To be fair, some of the electric powered models were kit built or built off a plan.

Nice looking Harvard David. As is often noticed, most of the newer pilots are going electric. I can't really blame them, it's easier when you are just getting started. I still primarily fly glow but I have a 40 year collection of engines and support equipment. I represent a minority in my local club. Related to changing times, one of our local club members has decided that he isn't steady on his feet enough to burn circles anymore. He is offering some of his control line planes and engines to the members of the local club but I may be the only taker as I'm the only other one who occasionally flies control line.

I am one of only two members of my model aeroplane club who regularly flies a a four-stroke, the other is a dentist in Paris who is only occasionally at the flying field. He is a Saito enthusiast. Another clubmate plans to build a Fokker DVII and has asked my advice about an engine for it.
One of my compatriots, a member of another club, sold his house and returned to the UK. He had a DB Sport & Scale Blackburn Monoplane, wing warping and all, which he couldn't take with him because it was too big so he gave it to me. I didn't want it so I gave it to another member of my club who is a superb builder who has returned to the hobby after a thirty year absence. He's bought a Laser 100 for it. https://www.dbsportandscale.com/blac...ane-6507-p.asp
