Am planning on building over the winter months not sure what yet but decided to buy a EDF Jet last week. 7 flights out so far only drama was a bouncy landing and the plane split at the seam, not a big deal got the epoxy out went to town. 4 more flights today without mishap, getting 6-7 minutes flight time using a 3s 2200 battery G2 Spektrum smart. Totally different than flying a prop plane more if a gentle take off until speed is built. Planning on buying the F-22 64mm EDF tomorrow then will start looking into build kits as I said not sure EDF get or War plane will be either or. Anyways tons of flight time in over the weekend and took a youngster a 4 channel beginner to start with and we made several flights together. Was fun flying with someone else ended up giving him the small plane so he could fly some more while I’m not available. Here’s a pic of the Habu 50mm ss pretty neat little plane

Super cool videos thanks for the shares, have to say last 2 days have been gorgeous here have gotten in at least 15-20 6-10min flights in each day. Decided to buy another EDF jet tomorrow cannot make up my mind between 3, 64mm edf’s but the F16 one of my favorite jets always just thought they were beautiful second the F-22 Raptor Third the F15 Strike Eagle looking at the twin 64mm EDF one there. Just not so sure so many I’d like to own. Everyone have a great day hopefully y’all get some flying time in as well

Mornin all, played around last night with the Habu was able to program in thrust reverse wasn’t exactly like the book etc showed using a DX6e thinking I need to move up eventually to a 8 channel transmitter. Have to either turn on safe select or turn it off without being on a switch which isn’t that hard to do definitely need throttle cut. Haven’t had time to test yet be giving it a go shortly only 7:30am here try to be decent to my neighbors before I make to much noise. Y’all have a good one supposed to be gorgeous here today so far so good.

Default Old video at Seven Towers Model Flying Club in 2015. P51 Mustang.

Unfortunately towards the end of this video it starts to break down. The problem being a damaged memory card. On the upside thankfully most of it is watchable. The landing is spoiled though. Just one of those things.

Does the assisted living facility have a RC field? I might want to consider moving to Elk City when the time comes!

Some of you gentlemen may remember Lord Hardthrasher's critique of the B17 Flying Fortress.

Herewith the first part of of his appreciation of the bombing campaign of the Second World War. My previous warning about those who are sensitive to industrial language applies here too.

Scroll past the first four minutes, it's trite commercial dross.

Awesome video of the P51 just a little green’d out towards the end still saw the end landing love the P51. Being a WW2 history buff person yes I’ve seen and watched that one several times before. Reminds me of Iraq it’s war but we don’t want to hurt feelings, sorry guys gals it’s war not nice on either side you do what needs to be done can’t be nice to everybody. Personally I knew the second Saddam surrendered wanted to play nice we’d be going back should have finished business the first go round. Back to planes sorry all being a vet I’m very funny about certain things. Flew my butt off yesterday the Trojan and Habu which I’ve been painting with my eye injury very hard for me to get oriented so trying different things. Suggestions would be cool here’s a pic as she is today. Be safe all

Pretty windy here today but took the Habu up to test reverse thrust on landings, have to say what a difference it makes. First dropped my landing area in half I do have to commit once I activate the reverse switch to keep a eye on the plane but even with the wind and being a little high on wind gusts made me look like a pro landing. My brother flies also unfortunately 10 hours away from me he just ordered the twin 40mm F14 EDF if anyone has flown or owns one love to get some input on them. Y’all be safe hopefully get some flight time in

I got to see the reverse thrust in action at our club's fun fly last month. Pretty impressive. Handy if you have a short runway.

I wish lol. They wanted a flying demo and there is a road go in that is N/S but there are two sets or power lines across it.

Ordered the Hobby King 50mm F16 today they suggest 4s 1.1 to 1.3’s which Spekrum doesn’t offer so any suggestions on manufacturers would be greatly appreciated. Once I get the jet I may see if there’s a way to go 1600 but will have to see there. The thrust reverse is so good cannot believe how easy and short landings are now. Well here’s what I ordered anyone else here flying one and have any insite on battery selection would be great. Thanks all
Bill

Exclamation Blast from the past! Zagi lives on!

Hi good people!

After 2+ years in storage and rekindle hardware and tape covering repairs along with busted sero arm on the Zagi Wing, these two wings (Combat = Red; Zagi = Yellow) flew just amazing! Fast and Loud like they should. Of course Saturday morning was a test flight for the Combat wing which resulted in a spectacular crash seconds after hand lunch. The right Elevon push rod departed the wing so, control was dicey so, I made it crash on purpose for safety. The Combat is a heavy and robust 48- inch wing span wing that was designed for crashes and mid-air Combat so, no issues.

At approximately 2:33pm this afternoon (Monday, November 6th, 2023) I was able to record successfully a nice video of my Zagi Wing that had been in storage for a little over 2 years. After needed repairs and tape covering replacements, it flew delightfully. Check out the Video at:

Nice Zagi!. I had one back when they were powered with a speed 400. A couple of years ago I moved to a location near a nice big bluff. I've been thinking about getting another one and trying slope soaring.

Well 80amp Spektrum ESC installed I did install the new airframe old one seems soft to me was afraid of structural integrity. So new airframe ESC flew the first flight on mode 2 70% throws and EDF power got her trimmed out. Installed a fresh 50c 4s 2200 and took her up WOW 😯 what a difference on 4s besides the speed difference it is so much more control response wise. Cannot argue even threw a 3s 100c 2200 in again, could tell the power difference but flew like a dream once again. Totally happy with this mod have a more powerful EDF on the way hopefully tomorrow and see how it goes from there. Here’s a pic of the new ESC I did have to hog out the airframe a little for cooling, fitment used Velcro worked excellent. More pics to come and what a sound it makes now howls screens like no other

Every October since 2015 when I retired to the middle of France, I have observed thousands of Common European Cranes flying south from Russia and Scandanavia to their wintering grounds in Spain and North Africa. I haven't seen any this year Until last Wednesday when a small group of about one hundred birds over-flew our flying field while we were flying our models. I suspect that they were the last of this year's migrants and that for meteorological reasons the bulk of them adopted a different route this year. Early October was very dry here but it has poured with rain during the last four weeks. Maybe that's got something to do with it.

Winter's still on its way that's for sure!

We have already had one freeze and a cool front is moving in. They are predicting a middle of the road winter, but the weather around here is known for surprises. I am considering retiring next winter and have been getting my garage setup so I can build in there year round. This year will be my test run.
