Default Just so you know

I'm Canadian, and this is not a rant, or political.
This is a FYI
I ordered RC stuff for 87$ USD from HK US warehouse. When I received it, I had to pay 50$ CAD to the Canadian gov. 😨
I understand I have to pay taxes, but this is ridiculous: paying 50 % MORE of the value?
The mafia does that sort of thing, but my own governement ?
So when your president says it is NOT a fair trade
with "some" countries, he just might be right!

I'm sorry to hear that . I have friends and family in Europe and it's the same there . They have this "VAT" (Value Added Tax) that is an absolute killer , and so called "luxury" items are taxed at the highest rate . An 8 cylinder car , for example , costs 3X more in taxes than a 4 cylinder car , and this is across the board on just about everything but food .

The actual taxes paid are about 10 $ , which is OK by me
but the " handling" fee is 40 $ !!!!!! What a rip-off

Did you get it by UPS? If so they are known for exorbitant brokerage fees

I think the USPS is the best option. Not the private ones.

Fees are a big reason I don't order or buy anything outside of the US. It goes both ways. I've seen some decent deals in Canada, but I'm pretty sure once it hits the border into the US it will get taxed, or some kind of fee will be imposed, whether it's from a company or private party.

Years ago a friend won an EBay auction on a pattern plane, the plane was in Canada. The fees associated with the deal were more then the deal itself. Shipping was actually reasonable, but it was the fees/taxes that really blew it out of the water.... he did pay it all. The plane was only about $150, but all said and done the deal ended up being well over $500... more then the same brand new plane was at that time. Live and learn right.
