Default Old Man Help

I am looking to jump in the water as a 70 yr old man wanting to fly rc planes. I am looking at the RTF mini Apprentice with safe. What I am also want to do is find a flight simulator that I can practice at home & not crash a $250 plane. What do you recommend for a simulator?
Thanks Mike

Realflight is probably the way to go. You need a fairly powerful PC and good graphics card. Hooked to a HD flat screen TV (40" plus) you will feel like you are at the field.
When you have some sim time and know right from left, and up from down coming and going find an RC field in your area and go and talk to a mix of members before investing in an plane and radio. When you do make the plunge get the largest wingspan model you can afford. Bigger is easier to see, flys better, and will outlast a number of smaller models. There are some really good expanded foam planes on the market. Some can be ordered to include a basic transmitter and "autopilot" to assist you until you can fly on your own. Most clubs have good instructors who can really help you a bunch in becoming proficient. Enjoy your new hobby.
