Default Another RC con!

I couldn't believe it! I had to drive today a long distance to purchase a single sheet of balsa wood "5.5x100x900mm" from one of the localy avail supplier. Brand new store, the largest in NSW just opening last weekend. While expecting a wide variety of balsa wood at the usual display racks at some special price I was rather shocked while picking up from the rack the size I was after.
It felt about 3X heavier than the one I normaly get and twice as expensive!
No more balsa wood, with the new tittle, "Modeling wood!!! They can shove it up theirs! LOL.

You know all those billions of wind turbine blades that are going to save us from ourselves? Guess what's inside of them?
Hey, boys and girls, can you say 'Balsa wood'?
One of the reasons it's getting expensive and harder to find.

Hard to believe they would use balsa wood for the giant T/blades, there's no strength in it!, what's the point, the foam would be lot cheaper alternative you would think.
I was hopping to use the full length balsa keel for my new EDF Delta jet, but instead used off-cut bits I have laminated to join to keep the weight down rather than this heavy crap "modeling wood" they sell now as an alternative. LOL.

New laminated keel in place.

To keep it light!
