Hey Stomper,

I'm sure 48 appreciates your offer but he needs help quick!

I'm closer, so I will do the unloading.

I can reach his trailer, you just have a mailer.

Bill.

Doug,

It is a very nice plane, I hope it flies well. It will be my first "Fast" plane, the jett 50 should do the trick and pull the Patriot well over 100mph. I'll post some pics this weekend, by then I shoud be fairly close to completion.

Take care,
Pete

Default RE:How many planes do you own? And what are they?

Far too many to list. I'll just list the ones that are ready to fly right now:

2 JK Aerotech 1/12th scale P-47s (1 Razorback D, 1 Bubbletop N)
1 JK Aerotech 1/12th scale A6M Zero
1 1/12th scale Hawker Hurricane
3 SPAD Slayers (2 with .25s, 1 with a .40)
1 RA Cores Gremlin (.25)

There are a lot of projects 'in the works' too (like some Ki-64s, more Hurricanes, a Hellcat, another Zero and some Fokker Dr.1s). So, this RTFRN list will be out of date before too long.

Let's see, fished first plane...tiger Moth in Aug. then went to Wattage Crazy 8 in Nov, now working on Thunder Tiger Trainer(had to go Nitro). So 6 months 3 planes. Not counting rebuilding the Moth a couple of times....off to a slow start I know, but I had my X-Ray T1 to work on and run over the summer as well.

It's a sickness.........

Interesting. If you figure it out a picture would be interesting also. Tell us about it anyway - how did you do it, bought floats or made them, how does it fly, etc.

But you are at least smart enough to have a twin, the real question is why only one? Haw.

    The singles are trainers.

the twin star flies great, seems easier sometimes to take off from water than from land.alot of people like to put .40's on these, but with .25's it cooks along at a pretty good click.the floats are store bought gee bee brand blow-molded. work great. as for the engine, nope, the old stove bolt bit the dust along time ago, this one is a pickup, street rod,of course,i sold the truck about a year ago,it is powered by a .060 over 455 pontiac. not run of the mill either. big chief aluminum heads, butler roller cam, sheet metal intake, modified 930 holley, lots of goodies, got boring, moved on to other projects. BTY,the catalina is a twin as well, magnum .15's,the twins are more for amusement,i have alot of different singles to keep me interested. later

    Default How Many

    Hi
    I have two flyable.

    Goldberg Sr. Falcon
    Goldberg Tiger 2

    Building

Golgberg Eagle 63 (which I could use the wing ribs as they were misplaced and no longer availble)

    Topflite F4U Corsair (just started)

    Kits

About five or six. Would have to dig them out to give you the make and model. Collecting dust for 15 to 18 years. Will get to them soon as now I am retired.

    Hey, Nogoodhood,

Congratualtions on retirement. You're gonna love it, especially if your health is good and you are into this hobby. About the only thing you'll find has changed much over the years......what you paid for the Sr. Falcon, will just about pay for the covering the F4U nowl lol I'm guessing you're out on the Island someplace...Have fun@it!

I've been retired since "88" so even tho I've smashed my share, I still have
    Diamond Dust
    2 GP Xtra 300s
    Sig Fazer
    GP Profile Ultimate Bipe
    Koyosho AgWagon
    Breitling Cap w/OS120
    4 Star 120 w/OS120
    1/4 sc,. Xtra 300 w/G45
    1/3 Lanier Staudacher w/65
    Dynaflite Chipmunk w/YS120
    Balsa USA Enforcer w/OS91
Robbe 60 size Schluter Magic (heli)

    Have a GB partially built
and started on the "Switch Blade 400"

Now if the weather would only turn to summer again.........

    Default Here's what I got!:

My very First Plane: I built and flew - BUT NEVER LANDED!!!:

    1. A Guillows (spelling?) stick P-47. I added rudder and elevator, a cox 0.049 motor, and the Heathkit my Dad had me build with him. God Bless his soul. I wanted so badly to do this thing called R/C as a kid, and he wanted to inspire in me a mechanical ability. So, he told me I would have to build the HeathKit radio (with his help) if I wanted to fly. Dad was a STRATCOM officer with a knack for radios - his nickname when my Mom first met him was Diode!) Well, the radio sure did work -- I just didn't have any skill as a pilot! So, the Jug became a pile of sticks!

After that (I was a dumb kid and wanted more...) I built and NEVER FLEW (I was actually scared to wreck these guys too!) the following:

    2. A Sig Kadet - built in 1973, and it is still in my garage down in Florida.

    3. An electric Glider with about a 2 mtr wingspan, of German origin - I built it in Stuttgart (1976) where we lived while my Dad was stationed there in the US Army. *** This one WAS in my garage in Florida too... more to come.

Now, I am almost 40, and Dad is gone - but I actually turned out to be a pretty talented craftsman - and I owe it all to him! So, last year, in a desperate grasp at my passing youth, I decided to get back into modeling. I am working temporarily in the DC area and found a club - Northern Virginia R/C - and they (and I suppose all clubs have this now) have a formal new-pilot training program. So, I bought a kit, built it and signed up with NVRC.

    4. It was a GP PT-40 with a Rip-roaring 0s-46 FX. Man I love this plane . And building it brought back all those memories of Dad and it made me realize what his goal was with that HeathKit. Well, if he could hear this - It worked Dad.

    5. I went to my house down in Florida and dug that old glider out of the attic in the garage. Dusted it off, cleaned things up - took the one remaining heathkit servo out (I have no idea where the receiver., battery, trans, and other servo went...). And I brought it up to Va where I put a new flight pack in it and she flies!!!!

    6. After the experience I had learning to fly at NVRC and the great people I met there, I found RC Universe and trusted a gentleman in Richmond, Va to sell me a Dazzler with a Saito 72 in it. Can I please say that this hobby is good? The people and the experience are good. The Dazzler was and is a great plane - a bit too much for me as a pilot at times - but I respect it and it is fun to fly.

    7. And now, I am sitting, waiting for my new order to be express shipped from Tower Hobbies. Its a Sig 4 Star 60. I have bought (on back order ) a TT 91 for it and I am going with a Chrome and Purple color scheme of MonoKote. I can't wait to start building! What with this winter, and being holed up inside a corporate apt in VA, and my garage being all the way in Florida, I NEED THIS PLANE! If I stay motivated enough, I hope to build with photos to post to RC Universe to share with anyone interested - I know I am interested in what each of you write: Those thoughts/ideas/comments/experiences are going into my 4*60!

    Thanks.

    Tom.

I've only been in to flying for about a year, so I haven't built a big list yet.

    Flyable:
Mountain Models Switchback with MP Jet 25/35 brushless and 8cells
Mountain Models Duskstik with geared 280 and 8cells (relaxed flyer)

    Building:
Scratch built Twinn with 76" WS, dual geared SP400, 16 cells (waiting on money for motors)

    Crashed/probably never fly again:
    JK Aerotech T-52
    Kyosho Cessna 180
Cloroplast thrown together (that never flew)
