Default Shops and Clubs in Santa Fe, Los Alamos and Fort Worth?

I will be traveling from Sweden to New Mexica and Texas in September/October and would like to visit some good RC aircraft shops in the Santa Fé, Los Alamos or Fort Worth area. Can anyone please recommend any shops to visit please?

I would also like to get into contact with and possibly visit some R/C flying clubs in the cities mentioned above. Please let me know what the opportunities are.

Many thanks,
Red B.

For shops in Santa Fe and Los Alamos, I fear you are out of luck. Santa Fe has a great group of fliers, as does Los Alamos--check http://www.modelaircraft.org or http://ama-dist8.org to locate them. Gene Garcia of Santa Fe is a great guy!
The nearest shop to there is in Albuquerque, as far as I can tell. "Hobbies-n-Stuff" and Southwest Hobbies, plus "Big Boys Toys" are all there.
The same web sites will get you to Ft. Worth clubs, and mpalermo has given you links to a couple of the primo hobby shops in the Metroplex, plus ther is

haven't been there, yet.

Well I am sitting right here in Albuquerque and the only 3 decent hobby stores in the state are right here. Most who live up in Santa Fe and Los Alamos either come and get the stuff or have it sent by one of these three stores. Santa Fe is about 45 minutes from Albuquerque and Los Alamos is about another 30minutes further.

Hobbies N Stuff
Big Boy's Toys
Southwest Hobbies

My personal best is Hobbies N' Stuff for all around supplies and great service.

Now if your coming around that time, are you here for the Balloon Fiesta?

What are the dates you will be around

Local flying field is Maloof Field. Maintained by the city with a 700x100 asphalt runway, picnic area and the whole thing.

Temps around that time are in the low 50's at night and warm up to high 70's during the day.

Let me know if you need info.

The only 3 hobby shops worthy of the name since Keith closed over in Portales....
although I haven't been in the new one in Alamogordo.
It is nice living in a place with hobby shops, but having to move to Fort Worth to do it is a pain. They have water falling from the sky here!
Seriously, though--if you get to Ft. Worth, check out GSW aeromodelers. Nice place, friendly flyers--convinced me, so I joined.

Thank you for your replies. It's good to know that there are possibilities. I will try contacting some of the cloubs mentioned. Unfortunately I will arrive after the baloon fiesta.
