Off Topic-Computer Question-No Mouse Keystroke Usage
My father has some computer problems. How he got there, who knows?
I know that I can restore his computer (been here and done that many times) if I can invoke a utility he has named "ez-restore".....
Problem is his mouse is kaput...What I mean is that it's not recognized by the pc as being connected. He lives in NY and I live in Chicagoland...Nuff said there.
So after about two hours on the phone I got all the way to the utility using the keyboard TAB key and the UP/DOWN arrow keys only to be stymied by the "Check Box".[:@][:@] We've all encountered the CB. It's the small white box that requires a mouse click to check/select it.
There was a selection (RESTORE) that I needed to make which required the box to be checked and I simply couldn't figure out how to "check the box" via the keyboard.......... BTW, the utility is accessible via his MY COMPUTER to the CONTROL PANEL.
Does anyone know how to "check the box" via keyborad strokes????
Thanks in advance.
P.S. I've tried to re-install the mouse using the "Install New Hardware Wizard" to no avail. There are numerous "Illegal Operation" messages that come up at varying times. Just restoring the registery to a previous date will resolve all these problems if only I can CHECK THE BOX!

RE: Off Topic-Computer Question-No Mouse Keystroke Usage
Yes, this is very off topic as it's not a computer question. But here is you answer anyway. Use the tab key to move the highlighted object (should put a small black line around the object), when it has the black line around it hit the space bar and that will select/de-select the check box. if there is more than one checkbox to choose from use the arrow keys to move up and down among the checkboxes, and then use the space bar to select the checkbox.

I didn't realize that I had to be so literal in these forums! And so it's a Windows Operating System problem, eh?
Thanks again......
