They say its like riding a bike
Just to let everyone know I'm back.
Well its been close to two years since I held a transmitter in my hands so I loaded up the truck with my modified SS60 tail dragger and headed to the field this past Sunday, with joy everyone was glad to see me as I was them. I got everything unloaded and grabbed my frequency pin. The ST 90 fired right up and in tune, I ran it up a few times then killed it to top off the battery pack. As I waited I made arrangments with one of the members to walk out with me when the time came for flight as I was one nervous cookie. The charge ended I fired it back up and motioned that I was ready, taxiing out was a piece of cake, lined it up on the runway and slowly got into throttle down the runway it went and airborn. Everything was coming back almost as if I'd never left and not once did I have to hand off the transmitter, landings were perfect. I'm still not quite back to where I was but I'm sure it will come back in time.
The plane is the World Model SS60 only its been slightly modified to give me longer strokes on all surfaces for more acrobatic maneuvers, the tail was modified to give me split elevators and a new custom Rudder installed for tail wheel and the CG rearward with two servos mounted in the tail. I started off with all throws as they were when I left the hobby high rate at max throw.
All this said it was very enjoyable.

Testing was done all electronics and equipment before leaving the shop.

Blackie I'd like to introduce you to Jettsarblue, Jetts this is Blackie. The two of you should hit it off nicely, cause you're both a pain in the ass.
