We'll with winter winding down (not fast enough!!!) I was just wondering what new goodies you will be bringing to the field in spring, (or now for those in nice warm climates). Radios, engines, planes, helis, whatever...lest hear what ya got.

For me: GP shoestring racer w/mag .91 4 stroke.
H9 cap 232 (40 size) this ones still in the box but will be ready for spring.
GP patriot w/Jett .50

I also received a mkII quick field charger as a gift, I'm totally excited about this one....now I can spend all day at the field!!!

Thats the big stuff for me.

MY son and I are going to experiment with some formation flying. Some of us at the field tried some last year, but with different size and speed planes, it's pretty hard to do, although we did accomplish a 3-plane landing a time or two. I've completed two identical ('cept for the colors!) Sig King Kobras. I'm hoping they will work better, being somewhat equal. Now it's a matter of how ballsy we want to get! I'll keep you posted on how long they last!

Here is a picture of the full scale Long EZ I am building. Huge! I have the wings, canard and this much of the fuse done. Just sanding on the nose as you can see.

In models, I just finished a Magic, an Ugly stick from scratch, am working on a Long EZ from Fusco, a Goldberg Shoestring and a 135 inch wing Kamiak glider. Lots of fun.

I am putting together a Bobcat turbine.

The Patriot with the Jett will smoke! I used that airframe for my turbine waiver. Do a low pass at 6 feet, full throttle......people will have their mouths open wide. Have a great time with it.

I've just finished my SIG Somethin' Extra: Futaba 6XAs, Magnum XLS46A. Putting the finishing touches on a SIG Kadet Senior kit for my wife to learn to fly with. It has a GMS 2000 .47.

Hey gixxer, when you get a chance, come on down to our field. I'd love to come visit your field also.

Nothing super fancy this winter. I got a crashed Pizazz repaired for myself. I got my Scat Cat Q500 out of retirement. PBF is ready and flown once.

The .50 should be a perfect engine for the Patriot. I had an OS 46 SF on mine and I felt it could have used a few more rpms.

Just getting back to it after a couple of years off.

Just finished a Sig Somethin Extra (made look like the Lap Map Staudacher) and I am in the process of refinishing my Cermark Pitts.

I stripped down the Pitts, beefed up the fuse, beefed up the center of the wing, fiberglassed the center cabanes, made the outboard cabanes thicker, added wider fiberglass to the center of the wings, installed mounts for four aileron servos, split elevators servos moved to the rear along with the rudder servo, haig style tail wheel, and I will be installing a 2.4 with a three blade prop. The colors will be all black ultracote with white star burst and the Charlie Hillard graphics. This plane should be a blast to fly.

So far the weight on the scale without engine is 9.25 lbs. That should put the weight around 13.5 lbs, and a wing loading of about 28.5.

Lets see:

1) 4* 60, ready to go.

2) Repaired my Super Sportster 60 after an unfortunate 2nd flight.

3) Got a Lanier Dart for $20 on eBay. No tailfeathers, just fuse and wings. I've oversized the tailfeathers, and will be fitting it for my TT 61 tonight.

4) As soon as Fed Ex gets here (in about 20 min) I'll have a Top Flite Cessna 182 to begin.

5) I'm sure my trusty LT-40 will be flying as well.

6) Might get my old POS Duraplane set up for combat.

Hmm, I started flying in September...6 months ago. And that's 6 planes. Yipes! Perhaps I have a problem?

Looks like everyone has keep pretty busy this winter....and for those of you who have not stopped flying for the winter.....man I'm jealous, its just too darn cold in NY.

Yeah I think the Jett will pull the Patriot with authority, its my first kit, and first real "speed" plane. (I'm an ARF guy....go ahead and blast me), I couldn't be more pleased with how easy its going together. Think I'll have to give more kits a try, really am enjoying this one.

Thanks for replying, and keep em coming.

It's been an ARFull long winter here in Wi. A Black Horse Sukhoi with a TS.51, a Kangke Staudacher with a GMS 1.20, a Kangke Texas Hurricane with a Moki 2.10. and another 1/4 scale Giles I'm not touching till I get some flying in.(yeh right) Then we get into the redo catagory, 2 S.E.'s, a Global Ultimate and a 4* 1.20. Maybe it's a good thing winter is soooo long. Wait did I just say that?? Someone slap me quick.

I'm building a 40% scale J-3 Cub, 14.5 ft. span. Also doing a complete building step-by-step manual with over a hundred photos, so that down the road others can enjoy what will prove to be a very nice model. It is for 100 cc engines. I have photos, but they are too large to post.

vacinekm,

I'll definitely stop down this spring/summer. I always mean too, as I go by there often. I fly at two different fields, one in Lockport, and the other in Olcott. Both nice fields, especially the one in Olcott (right by the lake), its HUGE!!! Feel free to stop down anytime.

I'll PM ya as soon as we get some "decent" weather.

take care.
