LOL john...when I first saw the pic I thought that that was a full scale. The angle makes it look huge! What is the wingspan?

That big Eagle is beautiful! I'm building a Byron right now, I'm waiting for an engine mount to be able to continue construction. I'll post pics as it gets further along.

I love the Christen Eagle!

This is my friends (Chris Walsh) "Christen Eagle One” .40-.60 Pilot kit. I have the same plane currently in the bones. This beautiful bipe is a scale model of the Eagle flown by "Christian Sweitzer" to win the 1982 World Aerobatic Championship. The 51" span model is covered with Monokote and powered by a Saito 80 four stroke.

These Pilot kits are very rare—they’ve been out of production 12-15 years.

Thanks!! I think the Christen Eagle is the sexiest airplane ever. It's really to bad that Pilot don't make the kit still. It's the most "true to scale Eagle I've ever seen. It's great to see other people with interest in the C.E.

Hey deadstk....how well does the Saito .80 fly the Eagle? I was thinking about useing a Saito .91 on the three I have, but I don't know if the .91 will fit without cutting up the cowl...which I'm trying to avoid. I know the plans call for a .40 size 2 stroke or .60 size 4 stroke but I don't think these engines would get it off the ground!!

Great pics guys. I wonder why Pilot stopt making the eagle a beutifull model like that must have sold well. Does anyone know the website of the guys that make the full size eagle, i wanna se if they have some 3-views with cros sections. I found some super scale drawings of a 61" Eagle you can bye it here http://www.vth.de/shop/shopfiles/pro...&PS=1&PID=1368

Here are some pics of the plans for my upcoming Christen eagle with a lighter for size comparasin with a wingspan of 24"

It will be powerd by a OS 25 CV-A.

Here's the link for Aviat Aircraft Inc.
http://www.aviataircraft.com/index.htm

Incidentally, if anyone has a completed plane or even a kit for sale, I'm interested. Has to be at least 40 size though.

The PILOT/OK model company stopped production of the Eagle and many other awesome kits due to a major fire and lost just about everything. The ex-Frank Knoll 38% Eagle can be bought from Rick Boyer @ RC Model Engineering.

Saito .80 flies the small eagle beautifully--lots of vertical, more than enough power. The best part is the .80 and .91 Saitos fit within the cowl if you modify the stock (all wood) motor mount. I've already fit a .91 on mine and the cowl clears perfectly. The only hole I needed to cut was a small one for the needle valve.
