Default Yet another windex question. .

Did a search, came up with lots of info. One answer I did not find. Do you guys usually hit the monokote with heat once the windex has dried?

I do Crash. After leaving it over night I use an iron on low heat with a sock. I also put a very small touch of thin CA on any corners or points that may peel up later.

Hope it helps.

I tried using heat on the edge and got a bubble. I read about usiing a q-tip dipped in acetone or trim solvent to go around the edges so that's what I did.

If I do use heat, it is the next day and only on the edges and only on sheeted surfaces. Open bays get the Q-tip dipped in trim solvent.

I use heat around the edges with a trim iron.

You'll get bubbles if you use too much heat or by using a heat gun. The key is just enough heat to activate the glue while using a sock on the iron.

I use the CA on the tips because every time i realize I need to get some trim solvent, or Acitone It's already too late and I want to finish [:@]

Guess I'm missing something here...why do you guys need to use a heat gun or iron after using windex?

I've used windex or similar for years and years and never had any covering come up.

I've had corners lift, normally when I have something come to a point (like a star). I've been hittting it with light heat, but you gotta be carefull or it can bubble.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying you have to use heat, it's just my personal preference to use it, and he couldn't get a decent answer so I explained the way I do it.

Just don't expect the technique to work with Ultracote. I woke up the next morning to a pile of curled up numbers under my wing [&:]
