Hmm, now the schedule of our club meetings are being questioned from the other side of the continent!!

Sorry to put a knot in your shorts saramos!

I just figured that the meeting was probably over by 11:45PM CST (Midwest not the other side of the continent) and was suprised that as hot a topic this was nothing had not been posted by anyone yet.

I did not expect any indepth information yet, just somehting like Philo posted.

Look forward to hearing more infomation as it is available. I am sure whatever is found will be beneficial to the entire rc community.

thanks

Are there any comments or information that you can share from Tuesday's meeting regarding XPS coming out to the field and working with you??

Man, it's so stinking hot I don't even want to venture outside of my air conditioned home. I wonder if the Heli guys are having a good time in this heat?

I hope Jim Drew posts something here soon before pllove has a coronary or at the least another hissy fit.

OK who is nuts enough to go to the field this weekend (morning guys don't count, they are nuts in their own right)? It must be 110 in the shade out there.

Hey BB, I am planning on heading out Monday. I heard the field will be open. God I hope it isn't this hot.

Kmot, I will be picking up the tug in Oct.

We did find an unusally high source of directional noise on all frequencies ranging from about 35MHz to 3GHz. There is a large tree across Woodley Blvd. that marks the direction of the most noise. This direction was no secret based on the reactions from club members and their "Bermuda Triangle" stories. We did find a high concentration of Wifi units several miles away in a white building (condos?) looking to the right end of the run way (towards the heli pads).

We are still analyzing all of the recorded data to see if there are any patterns or spikes that occured. One thing is for sure, the noise floor goes away (-79dBm) at lunch time.. about 12:15pm and returns about 1:30pm.

There were people there flying our system, Spektrum, 50Mhz, and 72MHz while we were present, and nobody had any lockouts or crashes (that were radio related - we did witness one accidental crash on landing).

Jason (club president) got to witness the varying degrees of noise on our spectrum analyzers, and was very helpful to us in determining what different objects on the horizon were (since we are not from the area).

Again, all of this was reported at the club meeting.

Hi pllove
This is about what we know too.
They spend the whole day checking the field out and talking to the facility users.
I would have to say that it was a pleasure meeting Scott and Jim.
They came accross as a bunch of Hard Core Rcers, not that I know any .
They did however take 6 hours of rf recording and they will analize and keep us posted.
I will post updates for you guys as soon as I hear anthing new.

All the Best

Overload, danger!~)

I think you can eat them too, tempura calimari flavored or chili my soul. Supersized for calm mornings at the basin.

Jason,
Just wondering why we are getting news about xps second-hand, aka, pllove? Just wondering why Jim Drew hasn't posted any thing on this thread. Did he find something that he does not want us to know? It would be nice if he would post something here for those of us that couldn't make it to the meeting. This is my link to the Basin, and I'm finding out that it is alot of other people's link to the basin.

Hi Allan
Hope you are doing well. I can understand yur concern but we have posted all we know so far.
You are a Basin-Boy no matter where you move.
You are a club member and you will get the news first hand via e-news updates.
Are you going to show up at the Fresno Jet-Rally?
Lots of our locals will be there.

Well, I'm thinking tomorrow will be round 2 for the FW190 madien. I have fixed the gear. Ive since found out that whoever assembled the gear installed the wrong size screw, thats why the right one failed on landing. So that is fixed and strong as a rock now. I think the cowl will be removed for the first couple flights so I can get the motor dialed in. Ii hope it ain't too hot tomorrow as this motor doesn't like the heat. We shall see. And as Andy Dufrane once said, "Get busy livin' or get busy die'n" . So it is said that tomorrow she will rise again.

Anybody else going out....
