Sorry to hear about your loss Guy. I will surly keep my eyes open. I'm out there almost every weekend. Will spread the word around.
It also worries me that the jet guys leave $2000+ in support equipment in the pits when we fly our jets. Always good to have someone stay with your stuff.

I heard rumors that some guy was Caught at the Basin with a Lap Top and a 2.4 transmitter taking people down, from what I heard it might be the same guy that did this years ago on 72mhz. Does anyone know the full story?

Oh, man, is I hope this doesn't start again with that Mr. Kim nut. . .

One day, I think about a year or so ago, I was at the field when he walked the full length of the pits taking pictures of every plane, and then went out to the flightline and took pics of every plane in the air.

What the F???

Someone told me he got caught crashing planes at another field in So Cal, and they beat his _ _ _ real bad.

I know the guy you are talking about. I've seen that guy at our field taking pictures many times. I have been told by others that this was the guy that shot down all the planes at our field and others in the past. He is a very small, skinny, elderly Asian man. I believe he is the same Asian guy that brings out those old beat up 25 size models and sets up in the center of the pits.

I don't have first hand knowledge that this is the guy though !....does anyone know who we are talking about and know for a fact this is the guy !

there was a guy out there last Saturday standing next to the center taxi lane. he had a camera set up on a tripod. he took a picture of my hangar 9 f-22 as I was going back to the pits. By the time I got back I turned around and he was gone.

Whats up with that?

Verified or rumor? (that this is indeed the same guy who was caught at another field shooting down planes?)

People, calm down. Someone taking photos, tripod or otherwise, is nothing to get worried about.

Yeah that is Mr. Lee. he was out there today flying a small plane. He did get caught some time ago and I believe paid a fine as well. He was also to remain away from known flying fields but that was some time ago and that restrait has probably expired. I don't think much of him nowadays but I do keep a small eye on him just in case.

Someone should photograph him. What possible good can come from him being at the field?

Was the fine and order imposed by the FCC? If so, there's a way to find out.

A guy like that shouldn't be allowed to have anything that transmits in his hands if you ask me! Sick people tend to stay that way!

I was at the Basin today and did some asking around.
It sounds like a rumor to me.

Mr. John Kim's conviction is a fact. I lost a few planes to him myself.
The Laptop thing does however sound like an urban myth.

Then why is that SOB still out at the field? Is he mental or something?

There is a John Kim who posts a lot over at RCG and he has a blog with pictures of himself. Can you verify if this is the same John Kim that was the perp in the shootdowns?

Good find at RCG.

. . . you tell me if he’s mental. . .

After crashing M A N Y planes, loosing in court over it, being threatened with violence by numerous guys at the field, getting beat up real bad at another field for crashing planes – he still goes out there?

I’d say the guy has a bent wire, yes.

Someone told me he had just put his flag up when Kim goes up and pulls it out, walks over and hands it to him and says, “I’m flying now.”

The guy thought “what the f?, got freaked out and packed up and went home because he knew this is the guy that was doing the shootdowns.

Too mental for me to have fun out there in that vibe. Bill
