Is the Valley Fliers site down? You'd think that with as much $$$ the club pulls in for events, they could at least afford to keep the site up! _image/s4.gif

Did they change URL's?

Answered my own question...googled them and got a NEW site. Looks pretty cool, and it appears they have put some of that hard earned $$$ into the new site. NICE! My saved page the browser had the old default page. For a fresh link here ya go so you can replace yours too!

Looks like they filmed it at the Basin. Not a very factual portrayal of our hobby, but still good to see R/C on TV.

speaking of knuckleheads, yesterday I was there and there were a couple of guys out by the runway flying a plane around with camera on it. they weren't even watching the plane. both of them had video screens and they were flying by that (watching the screens not the plane) they were flying over the heli pads (with helis flying), over the pit area and over the infield grass. when I said something to them, they literally ignored me.

Of course it is. Did you bother to watch the video? And everybody knows who it is. So he thinks it is funny to flaunt the safety regulations, regardless of the time of day it was. Very mature.

I did watch the video. I've never, ever seen that guy at the basin. EVER! and I still don't think that looked like the basin. I Think it was someone trying to make a place LOOK like the basin. Clearly that wasn't it though.

Looks like they filmed it at the Basin. TV has a long history of portraying actors doing stupid things, I just hope that this does not embolden the knuckleheads out there to try the same thing.
OK from now on your new name is "Chicken Little" because as soon as I saw the episode (which was really funny btw) I new you'd be on here saying how this will bring down the entire hobby. I am just surprised you didn't include a tie-in to the government trying to ban all forms of RC flying.

Rarebear is the new Crazy Eric! Actually I think the rules don't take effect until after 6 a.m. so Paul can pretty much do as he pleases. I may be wrong in which case you guys should have the authorities at the Basin make him follow the rules like everybody else does. Then again since the place was deserted who really gives a rat's *****?

Be careful, not being amused by flagrant disregard for safety rules and other bonehead acts will get you labeled with a bad name by the regulars there.

Oddly I tried this defense when I blew through a stop light at 100 mph at 3 in the morning. DIdn't seem to matter. But then again, I am a Chicken little who can find the bad in any kind of good clean fun.
