Hello David,
Unfortunately the Magnum is not on the list and cannot be used. They allow OS .25 FP or LA and then K&B .20
Also, the Hobby People/Global T-6 is sold as a .15 size plane-I think. They only sell one in that size so either .15 or .25 is the same plane...I have the Global ARF and it is holding up well.
Just make sure you don't put EZ connectors on the ailerons. They frown on that. Hope to see you out there. Dave Rink

Hi Dave,

Thanks for the info. I reckon the ARF won't be a lot more expensive than the kit, as covering etc is so expensive!

Might see you flying!

David,
The rules require a non bearing engine. You can remove the baffle but with a 8x5 APC it can't tach over 16,000 with the barrel open. Muffler bearings are forbidden as well.

Richard,

Doesn't the crankshaft flop around a bit with no bearings?

Oh well.

Anyway . .

Argh! I've just got back from Hobby People in Pasadena with, wait for it . . an ARF T6 and an OS 25LA!

Told ya it was an expensive itch!

See you later in the week, probably

Joe, are you back in town? Bring your digital camera so I can post a picture of my latest creation which is not far from a flying saucer.
If I do say so it was the talk of the Basin today.

Well June gloom seems to be over as it was 90+ degrees the last 2 days at the Basin. Steady wind from the South untill later in the afternoon when it turned around. Of course the guys that can't make right turns stayed on the ground or overshot the runway.

Jason and I took turns hovering my latest creation to see who could touch the tail on the ground without crashing.

I know..... you got a hovercraft....... right?

90+ degrees? I'm not used to that! Can't you make it a bit cooler please? Don't forget I spell words like colour with a 'u', and that's done in the frozen North.

You should get a plumber then.

Basins definitely aren't supposed to do that, even with the plug out.

Joe,
Once again I am referring to David's semi-obscure Monty Python signature. My line is the one that precedes his.

10. To many guys named Crash
9. The wind changes direction at will. See the new guys freek.
8. Incoinciderate fools messing with the freq. board
7. Fools taxing into others equipment.
6. Not enough trash cans to hold all the mid air leftovers.
5. Incoinciderate fools driving into the parking lot with radios turned on.
4. Safety? Only if you are refering to the pins in the uncontroled children's diapers.
3. While some pilots will help out the new guys, most could care less.
2. That annoying hum of helecopters
And the # 1 reason the why the basin bites is
HITS HITS HITS

Just one mans opinion, I could be wrong.

jsesere,
Re: your Top Ten thread....

2nd weak attempt at a flame war about the Basin. Is that the best you've got? I knew you could'nt keep from saying more. What's the real problem, the warbird guys won't let you fly formation? You crashed and want to blame someone else?

Where is a better place to fly in the area since you don't go to the Basin?

OK, let's take each in turn:-

10/ Interesting name. How many are called that?
9/ I have had a word with the culprit and it should be OK now.
8/ 'Incoinciderate' certainly is a problem. Especially as it is a word that doesn't exist.
7/ Leave your equipment in the trunk. Everybody would be happy then.
6/ Interested in trash cans eh? Wow! exciting!
5/ It's that non-existent 'Incoinciderate' again.
4/ It's not only the children who wear diapers, or so it seems.
3/ If it's that easy to care less, then they must care a lot.
2/ They only hum because they have forgotten the words.
1/ Hits? Where would you be without that as an excuse?

And finally. yes, I have to agree with you. You are wrong.

I love the basin~~!! Sometimes I love not going there. About it sucking? I don't go there looking for any sort of activity like that either. Is there a part of the basin that sucks more than another? Is this a biker , suck bang blow reference? Camarillo has a nice little private field. Far away, up in foot hills, kinda windy. But really nice and nice people too. RD, I'm just sticking my :bananahea where is was not asked for. I just remembered picadilly circus. Did you get that in ohio when you were little?

Simmer down now!~)
