Hey Eddy,
Good to see you back here, although from what I hear you never really left. Why the name change?

I wouldn't exactly say Philo got spanked, especially for a guy who has only been flying one year. As for Torey representing the South, I don't really think he was elected by the other guys to defend their honor. As usual in racing one or two small things can effect the outcome. If Torey didn't cut out the first heat it would have been a spanking, if Scott didn't nose over in the last heat it may have been a differant outcome. If Philo didn't blow two starts he might have won the day. It's racing and the fastest plane or even the best pilot doesn't always win.

Speaking of the fastest plane, it seems that Philos set-up was possibley the fastest out there. World Models Mustang with a YS 110. Sound familiar? Isn't that what most of the Warbird guys are flying? To be fair, Rex should have been there also.

Hey BasinBum, Good look'n out.

In response to Eperez's comment, I wouldn't exactly call that a spanking, however I can show you what a true spanking would look like. I'll be there this Wed. Anybody who really knows me will tell you. I'm game.

Besides, A nicer guy couldn't have won the thing. Even though I don't hang down South I know Tory is cool dude and deserved it .

As for the Dago kick'n ***** It was one of those days were the variables were just right and she was running like a champ.
Hey B.B. are you going to be there Wed.

I'm going this afternoon and staying late so I can go to my first Valley Flyer meeting. I've been a member for a few years but have never attended one. Tonite was supposed to be ROG but I guess they postponed it so maybe I'll get a practice flight for next months contest.

Anyone else going?

DJ's plane never made it to the flight line on race day accept for a brief moment halfway through the races for a little show and tell.

Torey flew his double p-51 deal with two engines. That's what took first place.

There was a brief moment of controlled mayhem at the field today. Actually its more like 10 minutes. At about 3:30 there were 11 fast fly'n, low pass'n p-51 in the air at one time. It was the usual 5 from down south plus 1 extra they picked up midway. There was also 5 from up North which included Franko, George, Billy Darren and some other dude. It was the funniest thing to see all these birds going out at the same time. At the time there were a couple of other planes already up which soon made a bee line to the runway. The 2 Dago's from the North had several extremely close to each other low passes which on one of them resulted in the removal of all the monokote off the top of the left wing. At one time there were about 7 or 8 wide on the low pass. It was awsome! And to top it off, while all this was taking place you had Kenny doing his routine all over the place. Needless to say everyone landed fine, but it sure was a site to see, and hear for that matter.

did any of you see (on the news) the MD-11 cargo plane this morning that got pinned up on 2 wheels at LAX? i was coming into work and there she stood - evidently, whoever was unloading the sucker unloaded the front first, thus making it tailheavy. it looks funny because it looks as if it's lifting off from the parking lot - hahahaha at least it does from the vantage point i had on the 105 freeway as i drove by it - and i'd guess that someone is in BIG trouble today.
