Nah..... If that was a P-51 maybe, Calling what he was doing, dancing, that would be dangerous. He needs more lessons.

Bit of personal risk involved, I suppose.

So what?

Darned impressive.

That is an accident just waiting to happen, no matter what you want to call it. Dave

A bit of personal risk?? It's more than a personal risk, he's putting everybody around him at risk.

But it is fun to watch.

The pilot needs to read the AMA safety code, line 7 under the radio control section.

It's not crazy, it's stupid.

He doesn't have to, he's in Mexico.

I don't see any reason this would be any less safe than any other prop hang, and the only person he's putting at risk is himself.

So what's the big deal? Let the guy put himself at risk all he wants, we only need to worry when he's putting others at risk. Even the cameraman is a fair ways back, I can see the telltale wobble of a zoomed in camcorder in that video.

I wonder how much sand got blown into his transmitter? Betcha those stick gimbals feel really swell now...

If he keeps up w/ doing that sort of thing, I have a hunch we'll be hearing of some dim wit who decapitated himself with his CAP 580...

I Agree.

Wearing a wifebeater in this day and age is unforgivable.

:D  :)

Its obvious the plane is very capable. Once basic hovering is mastered, its not hard to do with a plane of that size. Where the brain is lacking is, its definately a very unsafe way to handle a large model plane, and as he sits his transmitter down in the dirt, and it basically gets sandblasted with all that dirt, that shows what kind of mentality this guy is at.

Its an absolutely stupid thing to do, as all it would take is a breeze to send it off-course, or back over the top at him... I wasn't impressed in the least.

Everybody that claimed this is dangerous, comes from a liberal state.

Waking up in the morning is dangerous, should we stop everybody from waking up?

How 'bout all that dust and grit that gets into the mechanicals and electronics of the Tx?

How 'bout when the radio "mysteriously" fails somewhere down the (time ) line, and the airplane crashes...or just sorta starts acting weird...the next time he tries that stunt...

Hey...whatever dude...if you want to set a great example of your flying "skill" then who's stopping ya?;)
Is Japan a liberal state? (just wondering...)

everything we do has some risk to it,but don't do things like this to increase the odds of getting hurt
or hurting other people.:D

He is not at much risk, but everyone else at the field is. I don't want him at my site.

We wouldn't tolerate that here in East LA.

Yeesh, that's worse than this video that I found while I was trying to decide whether a DLE 30 was a decent engine for the plane I won at our annual banquet:

Nobody said he couldn't do it, except perhaps one saying it wouldn't be tolerated in East LA. Even that was most likely a comment on the need for obeying safety guidelines so clubs can maintain insurance, keep their flying field, etc.

Ah, Thank God for that.

I must have misinterpreted the tenor of the comments. Silly of me.
