Eagle 2 kit
I finished a kit that someone else started and I need to know how much down thus the motor needs to fly level? I got about 3dg down in it now and when I thottle up it wants to climb and no control. Thottle back above idle to get control. Any help would be great thanks in advance. Joe.

I have never built an Eagle II kit, but most kits have down and right thrust built Into the firewall. Maybe that is not true of this kit, but at best, down thrust is a compromise. It is designed to make that particular design fly level at about half throttle. At full throttle they climb, That is the nature of flat bottom wings. They provide gobs of lift, and the amount of lift increases at higher throttle settings. How does your plane fly at half throttle?

As I remember, the right and down thrust are built into the airframe.
It's normal for a trainer to climb under acceleration. What engine is being used ? If control is lost, too much power could be the cause. |
It climbs at half throttle. I think I got it friger out found the down thus setting on the plans and fix it.i didn't see it before cause the plans was torn at that place. I have not gotten to fly it sent I made the changes.

I will post the outcome after I fly it.

The Eagle II is a good flying plane - I've rarely had any problems at all with mine. No control with throttle up is a bit of a concern though - I'd make sure my elevator servo isn't shorting out. Engine deflection is built into the firewall design but I also added just a bit more once I flew her a bit. Mine is down 5 degrees and right 3 - has been for quite awhile (many years) now.

Inverted flight requires A LOT OF DOWN ELEVATOR!!!!! This is even WITH the engine deflected down. Just for reference, I've got something like 60 degrees elevator deflection up and down with mine - as much as I could get when I built her. Rudder is also maxed-out and ailerons move about 45 degrees each way. |
Ok I got the motor down 8 dg and finally got to fly to day. The plane flew great. Thanks everyone for the help.

Outstanding!!!!!!! Glad to hear it's working out.
Remember, she WILL do basic aerobatics quite nicely. She's a great plane to just have a whole lot of fun with. |
Thanks skylark I did one loop it stayed straight I still need to move the motor ind to the left 1dg .at half throttle it Fly's great then when I go full throttle it pulls to the right. I will change that and go from there thanks again.
