I just picked up a almost new G-62 and now I need a plane (prefer a kit) for it to power!

And Procia83, I don't get it............a scooter????? Looks like a Vespa..........

porcia83 11-13-2015 03:08 AM

Yup...that's it. An old one! Got plenty of planes to keep me occupied.

 Honestly , if I were younger and had more energy to devote to such a project , I'd go for one of those 7 or 9 cylinder radial engines in any accomodating airframe that caught my eye . I , like porcia83 , have more RC model plane equipment than I'll ever use in two lifetimes . Even got a wankel it's just the radial that's missing from the collection . Wouldn't in the least matter what airplane , so long as the engine was plenty exposed so all could revel in it's multi cylinder glory :D

And as to the Vespa , it would have to be one of the older ones , two stroke , manual shift , with the handgrip that the clutch lever is on being also the gear selector (pull the handle for clutch and twist the handgrip to select gears) . That was the first Vespa I ever drove myself , it was a 1950s model I think ....

The giant topflight P-47 with a DA engine!

Procia83, I drove a Lambratta 125cc for many years during high school and loved it. Took it apart, decarboned it, painted it, drove it and then repeated it again....had well over 10,000 miles when I sold it when I was in college.

Santa, would you leave me a Top-Flite 182 Skylane ARF.I promise not to build it on the kitchen table, but in the shed.

 Certainly not Tom , there is FAR too much "duct taping" of folks going on today in the name of "political correctness" . My suspicion was that the poster I responded to actually had Donald Trump in mind for the taping which is why I used Mrs. Clinton in my response (Donald has been all over the news the past few days for what the media accuse as "shooting his mouth off" whereas Hillary has been keeping a somewhat low profile till the Bengazi thing goes away , this is how I figured the unwarranted , unwanted political BS was directed at other than Mrs. Clinton)

Now that we've got THAT out of our systems , Jennifer , what say we leave the political garbage to the talking heads on the channel 7 news and go back to talking toy planes ........

hairy46 11-14-2015 07:24 AM

Airplanes good, politics bad! Santa did come to my house early and brought me a Phoenix Models T34, open it up only so far but like what I saw! And a Topflight Texan kit, still have to wait for the Giant Topflight P47 though. 😞

aircraftbuilder67 11-14-2015 07:47 AM

I'm hoping that Santa leaves me a Sig Something Extra KIT! Also hope I get an OS 46 AX in the stocking to fly it

Peace on Earth, we really could use it. Oh, and also no more FAA interference with our hobby.

It is easy to be afraid in the world where so much hate resides but we are constantly reminded by our God to do the opposite. "And the Lord said to Paul one night in a vision, “Do not be afraid, but go on speaking and do not be silent, for I am with you, and no one will attack you to harm you, for I have many in this city who are my people." Acts 18:9-10

Dear Santa, still waiting on that Moki 250, but a Kolhm 225 inline will power my Big Bad Wulf just fine.

Santa is a personal friend. He told me that you've been bad and that you are getting a modeler's equivalent to a lump of coal, a worn out Cox .049.

Its never about "need" ;)

JohnBuckner 11-17-2015 03:47 PM

But heck those "lumps of coal" are so darn much fun to tie a shop rag on with bit of wire, start'em up in your your hand and let'em go
