Driving from Sillynoise....On the road for 5 hours+...Arriving Thursday PM. I will scarf up all my goodies by 3~4p.m. on Friday and boogey back at that time.......This is my first time since 2002......

Coming from the obvious place on the left.:D What day, I don't know yet as I might be one of the people standing by the doors handing out RCU swag.
Anybody got any idea what the gas prices in Ohio? Man, the gas alone is going to kill my wallet![>:] Last year it was cheaper there than in Michigan, I should have filled up there instead of getting gas back on this side of the line.

Leaving in a couple of hours from south Louisiana; right at 1000 miles one way. We'll stop in Dayton and visit the Air Force museum before hitting the show Friday and Saturday.

I don't even want to think about what the gas is gonna cost... but what the heck? I used to drive to Columbus for the IRCHA Jamboree. This is my hobby; its all good.

I've got a 14 hr trip. My wife and I are leaving tomorrow after work and staying at her daughters place in the cities then the big 12 hr drive on Friday

Will do the show Saturday, stick around for dinner, then start the drive back to knock a few hours off it.

Four of us are driving from Northern Michigan Saturday. It's 5 hours each way, but worth the trip!

Leaving Durham, NC at 5 AM Thursday. 11 hours with a gas stop or 2.

Be at Toledo outskirts at about 4 PM. Sprnding the night in Oregon, Ohio.

At the Show Friday and Saturday, driving back home Sunday.

I'll be the one with the black hat and camera around my neck.

Gas is $2.15 and up at the moment. Some mom and pop shops are a little cheaper, but it seems they change almost hourly. It is sort of amusing because alot of the gas station's signs don't even have room to put a 2 to the left of the decimal point.

Whatever day that you go there, you'll find R/Cers at Tony Packo's. Whatever day that I go, I'll make a stop there before leaving town.

We are leaving Ridgeway, Va. at 3am Thursday, going by USAF museum in Dayton on the way to Toledo. Went last year for the first time to Toledo. Going by Cabela,s In Wheeling, WV on the way back to Va.

Save some money for the Cabela's store. Two years ago we hit the one in Dundee, MI on the way home from the show. I rarely use this word, awesome, but that place is! When you see a huge parking lot and tour buses pulling in with customers you know that it has to be the place to go!

Not every hour but there will be a place for those of us that are taking pix, where exactly at on this site, I'm not sure yet. I'll be there early tomorrow morning by one of the doors handing out RCU swag bags. I'll be one of the few that will have the white RCU T-shirt and hat on, others will be wearing the black polo shirts. It's a one-day trip for me so tomorrow night I should have some pix posted somewhere.
Maybe I'll toss a few teaser shots in here.:D

I take my son over there just for a day out!!

Believe it or not that store is the #1 tourist attraction in the state of Michigan!

I looked everywhere!!! Everybody was walking around with their RCU bags of Shwag.... we never found anybody.!

Hey, give me a few minutes, I just got home!:D It's been a looooong day already, up before the alarm went off at 4:00 AM, on the road at 5:00. I got to Toledo at around 8:30, in time to meet up with some other moderators. I handed out RCU goodie bags for about 2 hours before going inside. Some really cool planes there, one a 747 with a Space Shuttle on top and a tractor pulling it. A HUGE GeeBee, some jets and old-timers but a lot of the show planes won't be there until tomorrow. You'll have to give me some time to upload the shots. We may have one place for just Toledo shots.
I was cool to meet a lot of the people from this site there. I did the stop over at Tony Packo's. It would be difficult to find a better staff of people anywhere. We didn't stop by Cabela's, the parking lot was stuffed as usual.
RCU did not have a booth there, we just stood our in front of 2 or 3 of the entrances handing out the bags. Plane Insane and Eric royer handles the main door by the ticket booth while I worked at another entrance for a while. We handed out like around 2,500 bags ( I don't know how many for sure but it did feel like that many). We started handing them out to people in line at the doors before they opened.

I didn't get a chance to get a close look at the Gee Bee (that thing was HUGE!!) what engine did it have??



I may have to go back tomorrow for a closer look... Weather is suppose to be bad so no flying! Guess I'll go back to the show!

I don't know as that was as close as I got to it. I did see a big Gas twin inside the cowling but how big or what it was, I have no idea.
Let's see what else I have........
