Orlando model store?
Hi all,
I've a friend who tells me about visiting a model store in orlando (or area) which was hard to find as it was a house on an ordinary housing estate, but once found was a gold mine of modelling goodies. As I'm in the area in August I'm hoping to find it if it's still operating, it was a few years ago that my friend visited. Just a chance that this may ring a bell with someone? Thanks Dave :^) |
RE: Orlando model store?
I don't know about the shop you mentioned but if you're coming to Orlando you have to check this shop out:

Thanks Steve
I'll distract the family and head down there! Dave :^) |
RE: Orlando model store?
You won't be sorry visiting Graves Hobby Shop. I have lived in the area for 30 years and the shop in someones home is news to me. These are usually not allowed as commercial businesses in residential areas are frowned upon by the local zoning boards. If you can't find what you want in Graves (you may have to ask as it could be buried somewhere) then it doesn't exist.

Yep, Graves is "The" shop in Orlando. If you get the opportunity to travel out toward Wildwood, Noell's hobbies is a great place to do business as well. Jack goes the extra mile with his customers.

Hi all,
I'll shake off the director of finances and head off down to Graves. I don't think we'll be getting to Wildwood, but if I get near I'll check it out. Thanks for your help guys. Dave :^) |
RE: Orlando model store?
There are two very good ones, Graves (as mentioned above) and Bob's Hobbies on the other side of town. Graves has the greatest selection of planes--both used and kits--but Bob's (Steves Hanger) has the best ambience.
