Default Should I get this pump?

OK, I'm thinking about getting this/one of these (replace the **** with ebay dot com):

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...EBWA%3AIT&rd=1

Google has turned up this as a source for it:
http://www.thomaspumps.com/products/oem/pdf/7011.pdf

So, question is, if you were going to get a vacuum pump, would you get one of these?

Too late. I've bid. I will late fate deside for me. I will get one or not depending on how other people bid.

Well, from the specs and photos it looks to be a nice pump. I don't see any provision for cooling, so you might want to put a muffin (computer) fan next to it. My Gast pump, by comparison, has a cooling fan on each end of the motor shaft.

good luck with your bid (and pump),

OK, same question again.

One thing of note, this seems to be a 24V DC pump. I was already working on building a 24V PSU for a foam saw. Does anyone see a problem with using DC instead of AC for a vacuum pump?
