Default Getting Started with composite EDF

Hi,

I want to get into building small 40 -50" ducted fan jets and wondered if anyone can give me a pointer as to how to get started. I have read a couple of articles on making moulds and materials I need. I just wondered what would be the best way to build my first EDF.

Thanks

That is a pretty broad question. Are you asking how to build the plane or what exactly do you need to know??

I appreciate it is a broad question. What my aim is is to take a model kit like the Kyosho T33 (If I can find one) and use that as a template to create the molds and then make the fibreglass sections. The sort of questions I want to know is.

1. What materials and weight of cloth should you use on a fibreglass fusealage ?
2. How many layers do you use and how do you know what the weight should be ?
3. Are wings always foam with a fibreglass skin ?

I bet you think I am a right noob with all this and the answer is yes I am.

Any links to tutorials or articles would be really welcomed.

Thanks

What do you intend to do with these molds and parts once you have them?
