Epoxy Shelf Life?
I have half-cans of West System Epoxy components (resin and hardener) on the shelf for several years, left over from a full-scale boat building project. Time flys, the stuff might be 5 years old.
Does anyone know if this stuff deteriorates with age? Should I use it on a model airplane project, or should I throw it away?
It's expensive goo, so I hate to replace it if it's still useable. But on the other hand it'd be a shame to ruin a project with stickum that never quite cures.

RE: Epoxy Shelf Life?
It depends on how it was stored. Dark, cool, constant temperature and well sealed containers are needed for maximum life span. The USUAL life expectancy is ABOUT 2 years, however the storage conditions and brand can and will make a difference.
I suggest mixing up a small batch and applying it to a test panel. Then, depending on what happens with the test panel. go from there.
