Default best epoxy for layup?

I am beginning a predator b molding project and would like to know the consensus on what most people are using to layup a fuse mold and a fuse. Thanks in advance John

I prefer West Systems. They also have a number of different weight fillers.

I love West System. Very easy to work with, and gets nice and hard.

In terms of quality West Systems and MGS resins are equal in every respect. The slowest West hardener will allow about 45 minutes working time. The slowest MGS hardener will allow about 5 hours working time. This is very important with time consuming lay-ups.

The MGS fast hardener (20 mins) and the slow hardener can be mixed to a cure time of ones choice, 20 mins to 5 hours.

Where can I order MGS without paying extreme shipping charges? I have tried MGS and liked it but it cost twice as much as West Systems after hazardous shipping charges are added and I can buy West Systems locally.

Unfortunately I cannot help you there. I am lucky enough to have a local supplier.

you can buy MSG from aircraft spruce in Atlanta, no hazmat shipping on it (at least not when i ordered it) and ground to Tennessee shouldn't be too bad either.

ChuckA,

I would suggest try West. By all accounts, they are pretty similar. I love West. Give it a shot. West also have a lot of fillers etc that are formulated to go specifically with the resin.
