RE: Simple Trainer for a .15?
Thanks John
I think the terminology threw me. I have heard it called by different names. Like that plane. Thanks for posting. Ken<br type="_moz" /> |

RE: Simple Trainer for a .15?
ORIGINAL: JohnBuckner ...When it is dead calm the slider can be set at full forward and the airplane does fine and very stable as well as a slow rotation on the sixty foot lines. When the breeze comes up it takes just seconds to move more towards the trailing edge and the airplane has no problem at all in staying out on the long lines in fairly stiff breezes... John George |

ORIGINAL: gcb You will also find that the length and diameter of your lines affect how much the line bows. Most stunt planes use adjustable leadouts to fine tune how well the airplane flys. Absolutely Geoge but the point is this is not a stunt plane (at least the way it is set up), It is a single purpose airplane to be able to fly in circles in a stately manner with a slow lap time for first time flyers and stay 'on the lines' even in light winds. My intention was to provide an airplane that would get the student past that first critical stage and its been very successful to date at doing just that. The one I built belongs now to the young lady and I built it for her and her dad. The dad first used it (he is the one in all the pictures) and now has a collection of various airplanes (S1 Ringmaster, Nobler arf and so on) that he does well with and he is the one working with his daughter in the pictures. She is ready now for a conventional 'stunt' airplane now and is building her own Jr ringmaster. We were out flying controlline for the first time in perhaps three months just yesterday morning and I enjoyed three wonderfull flights with my trusty magician in my chair and here is some more pictures from yesterday with pop and daughter flying her 'Greenie'[8D] John |
