Spitfire Stunter
 

This is my latest model, replacing the much flown but ill fated Marquis. Spitfire Stunter from the 60's, old technology, but thats the way I like 'em. Span is 36" with an OS 20 upfront. I'm hoping to test fly this Saturday if the weather plays ball.................John

great looking Spitfire. I have just finished one built from plans.Charles Mackey from the 50's. Tried to get a picture on here but no luck. I did get the picture on Gallery though. Guess I am not up to sending the pictures alond with the script.
Hope the Spit flies well and lasts for a long time.

Hi dasflugemodele, looks fantastic. Whats the span, power etc.? Flown it yet? I haven't tested my one out yet. Looks so pretty I wanted everyone to see it.............John

Thanks for moving the picture of my Spitfire. Haven't flown it yet. Hope to get it in the air yetthis fall. This model was originally designed by Charles Mackey in the 50,s. Plans were redrawn by Jan Rummery and I got a set from him. He does great work.
Model is 56 1/2 " span and 40 1/2" ftrom the tip of the spinner to rudder. Fox 35 and 4 oz. uniflow tank. I don't recall the weight but it did come out kind of heavy. Finish is Sig dope.
I have several older stunt models and some older kits. I thought I would have them all built and crashed by now but they are still hanging in there.

I was flying this morning and a friend took some pics., though I'd share them with you. I love the one with the thunder head in the background, the Spitfire looks like an R/C model. ( Sorry, I know this is the C/L forum ). I was flying on 50' lines. C.G. has been moved back a bit to improve control response, and the OS 20 has been sorted out. ( the guy who gave me the engine had put the liner in back to front ), flew very nicely today, loops were lovely...........John

Hi Ive been flying C/L for some time now and Im looking to up graed to a Spitfire OS 10 size but I'm having trouble getting plans / kits for this size of engine can you point me in the right direction.[&:]

Hi houseman, the Spit. must be one of the most modelled planes of all time. Everyone seems to love the semi elliptical wing and graceful lines. Seeing as you're in the U.K., an email to these people may yield a C/L plan suiting your engine size. Good luck with the project....John
