RE: Where to get scale C/L kits
Depending on just how much work you are willing to do, I have found the Easy Built rubber models easy to convert to CL or RC, especially the 50" warbirds. www.easybuiltmodels.com
Some extra ribs, adding control surfaces, some planking and good beefing for the engine section and wing mount area. Great fliers. In addition almost any RC kit can easily be converted to CL. Check out Flying Models magazine for many good CL plans. (no link on this computer -- away from home for 2 months.) Good Hunting! |

Try the AMA and MAN plans services also. MAN used to have CL. The AMA has plans from Model Aviation as well as the ones preserved by John Pond. Model Builder plans are still available, I believe.
Flying Models has plans providers who advertise in FM as well as their own plans service. Happy Hunting! George |
RE: Where to get scale C/L kits
Here in the UK, there is a good choice of R/C warbirds etc that can easily be converted to C/L
I have nearly finished a ("stand off" scale) "Extra" R/C aerobatics model, modded for Control Line. |
RE: Where to get scale C/L kits
I convert RC kits and plans over to CL scale all the time. Any .60 powered RC scale kit, ARF or plans can be converted to CL scale.
Be sure to put a adjustable line guide to keep the line tension within reason. |

RE: Where to get scale C/L kits
Just a quick note for the conversion process:
1) adjustable line guide 2) Bellcrank can be anywhere, but typically 1" behind the CG is what I typically do 3) Put the rudder at nuetral, in fact I have one sport model that has no rudder at all. 4) Make the tailwheel or nosewheel adjustable so that you can get the model to taxi correctly 5) I set the stabilizer at zero degrees of incidence. Some RC kits have positive incidence in the fixed stabilizer. 6) Engine does not need down or outboard thrust 7) make a box in the right wing to adjust the wingtip weight Good luck |

RE: Where to get scale C/L kits
Hello.. I have found a real treasure of scale c/l kits on ebay. I must have at least 75 unmade kits in the basement. My retirement will be a pleasure. Good luck, [email protected]
