Anyone have the build article for Pinto?

The article appeared in "flying models" december 1972 by Dick Mathis. Anyone have a scan of this article? It is no longer available as a back issue. pretty sure it had a red Pitts S-2 on the cover.

Yes.

For anyone new to this, click on the images to enlarge and then click the blue button in the bottom right corner of the image to make it large enough to read.

Enjoy. :D

I designed a 1/2A stunter several years ago using the measurements of the Pinto and the outline of the Cobra. It drew it out by hand using ink on mylar. I offered the plans for free on here and sent out 25 copies. I never saw any of them built.

Oh! Howard! that looks really nice but I have no way to cut those kind of cores. Might try a built up wing version.

I will have to find the plans and see if I can find a place to print them. I moved to a small town a couple of years ago and I am not aware of any services here that can print large drawings. Maybe I can get some printed the next time I go to one of the larger towns around here.

find a place to print them.
Or you could get them scanned and turned into a PDF file. Then you could just distribute the file (post it here or email it) and let people worry about getting it on paper. There's ways to get things "tile printed" too, so that people can tape a big plan out of A4 or letter size pieces.

It is a great looking design.

The AMA plans service does enlargements and reductions of the plans they provide.

The Pinto is a 1/2A Oriental. It was designed by Dee Rice. He gave the plans to Dick Mathis.

There are a few more 1/2A Stunters published. Bob Whitely and Jim Armour have both authored little Stunters.
