SIG Beechcraft Staggerwing questions
 

Hello to everyone and a happy new year!

I have been building this SIG Beechcraft kit using only cyano glue to assemble the parts together.
Not having much experience in building kits, except a Brodak Baby Clown (which had the wing cyano'ed to the fuse according to the instructions), I would like to ask if I should use another type of glue, like pva or epoxy, to strenghten the joints. The kit is all finished, only needing to be doped.

It is probably strong enough the way it is, but if you make fillets on all of the joints from microballons and finishing resin type epoxy it will be very strong.
If you paint it overall red and carefully apply all of the kit markings as the box shows, you will have a replica of one of the two G-17S's that flew in the 1970 Reno Air Races "Beechcraft Staggerwing" pylon race. It flew with white 77 race numbers on the fuselage sides in a rounded, flourished font.

I had to take a photo of the decals as I have no access today to the scanner. Also attached photos of the model.

My favourite glue these days is waterproof exterior grade P.V.A., sandable and very good gap filling properties. Dries a bit slowly in Winter, but, gives you time to check all the alignments. Ask at your local hardware store............John

Just wondering how your plane turned out? Too bad you cannot scan the decals, The picture does not show the silver metalflakes!
