RE: Any info on this aircraft??
That's actually my first airplane, a Wen Mac .049 pwered King Cobra from the '60's. I sold Christmas cards to get it but never got it to fly very well. The engine didn't have much ooomph and the plane was as heavy as it was cool lookin'. Yours is in very good shape and would take in a good bid on Ebay. I'd keep it but not try to fly it.

My first model too. My parents friend bought it for me for Christmas, I was four years old. I flew it when I was 5 or 6 with my dad's help. Later I turned it into a racer and clipped the wings, added a complete bottom wing skin and a little Sig canopy and a Cox Tee Dee 049! I still have it as well as a stock example I found on eBay.
It is actually called the Wen Mac Day Fighter and has an ejecting pilot with his parachute stowed in the area behind the seat. All Wen Mac engines do well with 30 percent nitro Cox fuel and a 5x3 fibreglass gray Cox propeller. Check out the Yahoo Groups 049 Collector. There is a very complete photo section of about every plastic RTF model ever produced. Chris... |

Hawkermkii,
I would suggest you sell it and use the money to buy something that flies well. That way you will be happy, and someone out there will have a plane from their past to cherish and fondle. Win-Win situation. [8D] George |

Have glow heads, props and some airframe parts for this Testors line of RTFs. Think I still have a bag of new engines somewhere round here. |

I had one of those. It was olive green and was able to launch rockets. My dad flew it a few times. As long as it had power, it flew. Once the engine quit the glide wasn't much. Eventually the fuel tank leaked, we replaced it with a Perfect unit. It's long gone but I still have the wheels.
