Pretty cool but I dont know that I'd wreck a plane for the video.

What was the cause of the crash? Stalled?

Very nice plane... sorry for loss. Thanks for sharing the video. There are a some planes that will not tolerate much turn during the final... that might be one of them. It looked to me that the inboard (to the turn) wing started to stall (fairly typical) first and required aileron to lift the wing and that in turn stalled the outboard wing to produce the death roll.

I saw that video on another thread about a year ago. I'm not sure if anyone ever figured out what caused the actual crash. But it's still a shame to see something like that happen...

The plane has been repaired but has not yet flown again. When it does I will be sure to make a 'resurrection' video of it.

Bummer! That's why I never fly more than I am willing to lose.

I was the pilot on the first and only flight. The airplane is electric and the lipo batteries had not been used in since purchase which was almost two years previous. I had said to myself that I would make an approach at the 1.5 minute point on a 3 minute flight that way I THOUGHT I would have enough in the 4-5000 mah 6 cell packs. I was wrong. The first approach was a missed landing attempt as it was to long so I applied power and went around. Second approach was set up and it ran out of power to far out and too low. I tried to stretch the glide and you now see the results.

Altitude above you, runway behind you and electrons missing in the batteries... All things that are of no use to you on final

The batteries unbeknownst to me had never been shaped by repeated charging and discharging so they never had developed their full capacity.

But the plane has now be rebuilt and will be ready soon for the second maiden flight.

Hello Dan,

Thanks for clearing that up. And we'll all be interested in the re-maiden of the plane. It sure looked beautiful in flight.
