Ziroli B25 rebuild 101"

Yep, almost two years in the making. 5 and 1/2 flights. Lost an engine at a bad time. Parts are now being cut to rebuild the nose. It'll be a slow rebuild as I have a Skyraider on the table now. Retracts, nav lights, turning top gun turret, panel lines, rivets... flew beautifully. No trim what so ever...

That is a bummer, I am glad you are rebuilding it...
I have to say though. That picture of it plowed into the weeds and brush.. it seemed like a colorized photo of old WW2 pictures... I immediately thought of all the people that never returned ... The second I saw that picture I had that feeling. My Great Uncle survived the war flying on B24 missions .....made me think of him as well..

Moving along on the repair. I'm going to try to get some sheeting on tonight after the front landing gear gets (re) mounted. The crew is happy I'm finally rebuilding!

*Update* Engines set back to factory settings and run. Both ran very good, I was re-energised with this! the left wing has been repaired, all that's left is to realign the wing tube and glue in place. Then it'll be a matter of repairing the few cracks in the fuse, strengthening, filling and priming. I don't

Very happy this is happening!

the wing tube and the first three ribs were torn out in the crash

I made new ribs and got them installed, no easy task. I do think, however, she'll be stronger than before..Lol

think I'll go too crazy on details this time (yeah right) I'll need new canopies for the nose, but I'm very sure she will fly this summer.

N ever turn into a dead engine. Always turn into the good engine in other words if the right engine is running always turn right.
there was a full scale crash at MCAS Cherry Point back in 76 prime example of turning into a dead engine
your repairs look outstanding
good luck

She's ready, but I wasn't. Taxi tests were good, weather was good, but I still don't trust that one engine 100%. she did lift off for a second or two, but I let her settle in. I might possibly try again this weekend.... maybe. Lol

Phil, congrats on the superb job!
I fully understood you: I also crashed some years ago an ESM B-25 kit and although it is fully repaired I do just do not find the time -nor the aim!- for flying it again. Anyway I plan making test runs this Autum-Winter and going flying it back for next Spring.
My best wishes and the best luck for your postrepair first flight!
Best Regards from Spain.

Nice rebuild! Good times flying it!
My sons 118” hit from about 500’, straight in. nothing left except the elevators and rudders and they had some damage. Even bent the retracted gears. Both fuel tanks were punctured. 50 pound plane reduced to about 30
ounds in a garbage bag. 10 of it was Motors. I had the video and took pictures of the crash site, then the next day my iPad got run over by my one ton dually. Double crash,

Well, I wasn't sure weather or not she was going up yesterday, but I brought her anyway. I was a last second decision to go.. and she went! Conditions were perfect, and with fall coming, I didn't think I'd get another day like that, so.....
