I'm willing to bet 100 quid that you can find a knowledgeable local flyer who will give you free instruction.

Just curious, but what is the big hump in the top of the wing? It looks like the bottom is flat. A slightly more "refined" airfoil shape may help.

Agreed. I think a sheet wing might work better then that. Almost looks like half a cardboard tube under the sheeting.

You rejected the idea of an instructor because it was expensive... now your rejecting it because you don't want one?

I hope that bump in the wing is CF, your gonna need it.

Its a mix of reasons

cost
dont care for one
no one close

If some one found one close to me then i would exchange emails and see what we could come up with.

I'm sure this willl help the guy out. I taught myself without "cf", as did MANY others. Contrary to popular belief, guiding one of these little guys around the sky isn't rocket science. If you are willing to invest a little research first, and then some "sweat equity" down the road, it really is not that hard.

Some of us prefer to fly alone. I cannot stand to fly at the local field. Always one guy hovering over the center of the runway, one is doing low passes opposite of the traffic pattern cause the tailwind makes his trainer go faster. Everyone get your earplugs, here comes the guy with the 800dB turbine and his 7 man support crew.

I also taught myself and prefer to fly alone, I have the space on my house. But I did fly with real flight for a few years and now I'm in the very successfully. I try a few years back and landed that one in a tree the second flight, and replaced it right away but knew I needed help more that crash till you learn! Its not that I didnt want a instructor I just dont know when I will have time to go out. So here at home if I have an hour to fly within 5 min. I 'm in the air. Packing up to go to the field I couldn't make it in a hour! I do hope to get with a club sometime and give it a try, but I'm happy in my backyard.
