Default Scratch Build went down!

Well it is my first 3ch rc airplane and it was a scrath build with no planes...It crashed....

1st flight,

Dad throw it in to the air i was worried and gave it a lot of elevator it stalled and got speed back stalled and did this about 3 times then it hit the ground on inspection i only lost one wheel.

so i decided try agian

2nd flight,

Dad throw it i gave it a little elevator went about 30ft in to the air and i was really excited and went full rudder to the right it turned sharp and dove down wind towards my dad he dove out of the way and it hit the ground... I will be rebuilding it tonight and hope to finish the rebuild tommorrow.

Damage, split in 2 behind the wing, landing gear came off, rudder came off and so did the elevator, couple other cracks...

Question...Have you EVER flown a RC Plane before?

Are you Qualified to Fly a RC Plane?

From your post I am wondering...

Perhaps you and your father should find a local instructor that can assist.

What pics do you want before crash, crash, or rebuild?

It is like a midwing type plane...

WOW,

I was reading around the forum's and there was a topic on a plane that was pushing and not pulling and the guy said i cheaked the prop and it is facing the right way. Well he only had to switch the motor wires (Evan i know that). But i kept reading throught the thread and one guy said the prop doesnt matterbut it gennerally has the wrighting facing forward. He said if it is not it is going to have alot of throttal problems. I knew my plane was a little under power for a 3cell lipo and bl. So i ran up stairs andlooked at my prop what do you know it was facing the wrong way! I turned it around HOLY **** it has so much power. So i am blaming the crash on this because i did not have enough airspeed to make the turn because i was fighting the wind. If you are a begginner i suggest you read throught out the forums and just keep reading it will pay off!

I noted your location, Love that area of England. I always stay at the Bull in G.C. when working in London. I am also a member of the Denhem flying club where I fly full scale aircraft. I fully understand when you told the other fellow you were an hour away from an instructor. I do remember that a few of the guys at denhem flew model aircraft as well, several really top notch. Just an Idea.

That is really cool that is a 5 min walk from my house. Its a nice hotel aint it? I think it sucks here always wet and windy hard to fly. I flew today behind the bull! Do you have a link to the denhem flying club? Might take a look! Do you know of any one else in this area?

thats one reason its a good idea to do a good preflight, especially on a new aircraft, and 75 bucks a day for an instructor? Ive been teaching people for a long time, and never charged a dime, as a matter of fact, all the clubs ive ever been to everyone is always willing to help out each other, whether it be new or experienced pilots.

if thats the case, you might want to consider a flight sim. you can get one for about the price of 2 hours you say you would have to pay for an instructor. then you would have something to fly when its too windy or raining outside.

Looks good, I assume this was before the crashes? Definitely looks like the prop is on backwards in your second picture. Also make sure it is balanced. Both servos in the tail could be moved way forward if you are tail heavy.

Adam, i will go download it right now and report back on how it goes.

JKW, that pic was before the crash but it does not look much diffrent now. It is not tail heavy as i put the 3cell lipo in the front.

acarter, I am not going to spend that much on a sim.

It was to windy this last weekend so i could not get out and fly it i am hoping for this upcoming saterday.

Just curious, but what is the big hump in the top of the wing? It looks like the bottom is flat. A slightly more "refined" airfoil shape may help.
