Best method to remove old EconoKote film?

Well, like the subject says, I am looking for the best way to remove some old Econokote from a skinned wing. I am pretty sure this film is the low temp variety.

I want to remove this stuff, it is old and saggy. I plan to glass the skins and need to get all the old stuff off. I started to just pull it back and the clear part of the film started to separate leaving the color stuck to the skin, so I tried briefly to apply heat but it did not seem to help.

Help.

Peace, Wolf

The only workable method I have been able to find is an "Old Milwaukee" paint striping heat gun!! Put it on high...turns the covering into a gooey mess, then scrape it off with a razor knife!!!:D

GOOD LUCK

I will try a little heat again, but it looks like sanding is the common method.

I find that the easiest method to remove any kind of film
covering is with my Top Flite heat gun, find a seam or corner
hit it breifly with the heat, grab the edge of the film and heat as
you pull up at a 90 degree angle, leaves very little residue. To
remove any remaining residue, use a putty knife to gently scape as
you apply heat from heat gun. I have used this method on all
brands of plastic coverings with great sucess.
