Hey guys I have a top flite p47 kit that was built and crashed by a friend. He gave me the plane and said if you can fix it you can have it. Now I fixed almost the whole plane and have an engine and everything for it but I don't know how to go about fixing the front end. I already have started to fix the front but I am not sure how to make it strong and looking good again. Thank you!

Two ways to fix broke pieces,,
1- splice and reinforce
2- cut out and replace

Do you have the broke off pieces??

Hi!
the firewall for the engine box is completely gone but firewall behind the box is broken. Should I fiberglass the back of the engine box or what should I do? Thanks,
ryan

You mean the #1 former or bulkhead?

So hard to say without better pictures whats going on,, but sure, you can reinforce with glass once you've spliced it all back together

It's difficult to tell from the photos as they are so close that it don't present a clear view? From what I can tell(?) a new box would be best and a faster fix. Clean up the firewall when the remains of the old box are removed and perhaps cut a thin ply to cover it
and exoxy it firmly(clamp) then install the new box. I recently aquired what had heen a nice 20 cc size plane at a swap-meet with thoughts of cleaning it up and flying it. It had been repaired by the "slather on more epoxy and glue method" so poorly that I removed the servos
and other salvage and junked it.
Take a little time and it should work out!

Good luck!

Can you take some pictures of the entire plane side view top and bottom further away. Have you checked the fuse further back for cracks. May not be able too if its covered but crashes can cause damage you cant see with the covering on. Cool thing about wood is almost anything can be fixed. From what little i see i would flush the firewall and laminate it with 1/8 plywood. Possibly use screws and nuts to tighten it up

Have you tried to see if you can locate a set of plans for this kit? That would be where I would start.
