ohh man that looks bad...

how did this happen to such a nice plane?

SALMONBUG 08-04-2004 12:59 PM

RE: Me262 loosing nacelles

it hapened stupidly.
the guy performed a flawless very realistic flight.
when the time came to land, things changed........
instead of performing a nice long realistic final, he tried to make a very short circuit without final leg (the aircraft existing the final turn with the nose on the runway)
he landed a wayyyyyyyyy too fast and you see the result

The question is: How much dirt did those turbines swallow...?

SALMONBUG 08-04-2004 07:09 PM

RE: Me262 loosing nacelles

in fact, theyre is a risk that the price to fix both turbines will be high:eek:

It looks like the nose gear never did extend -- was that the case? If so, perhaps he should have tried to 3-point it (arse down) like a taildragger.

Righty 08-06-2004 05:02 PM

RE: Me262 loosing nacelles

looks like the nose gear was fully down to me

SALMONBUG 08-06-2004 05:59 PM

the amazing paradox of the internet two days after a event in belgium, a guy living in USA has better picture of a crash than a guy who was there and live 50 Miles from the event

Hey Salmonbug, where was this event?

Too bad I missed it, I always wanted to see an RC jet.

Any other good events coming up that are worth going to?

Bart

After John returned to the UK with his pride battered, he was not best pleased when he found his co-brits had made a few changes (well thats British humour for you :D) to the pictures.
