RCU Forums - Second Plane & First Lost

It was my first plane after my trainer. It was a pretty day but with a little more wind than we like. We had a black top runway and it was my first low wing plane. What a thrill. I took off and I was doing great with the wind. When I got ready to bring her in I was a little nervous cause it was a cross wind and a low wing bird coming down to black top. Not able to calm down I told my buddy to bring her in cause he was a very good ace. Well on one end of our field there was a black top road with a set of power lines. Do we know where this is going ? lol. As you would know it , that is the down side of the wind so he had to land from that end. Boy was he looking good , I mean steady as a rock. Till he went through the power lines cuting the wing and fuse in half. We looked at each other and I said , HELL I COULD HAVE DONE THAT. Then we died laughing. this was about 20 yrs ago and one plane of many. That is why I race nitro boats now. Ain't failed to bring one home yet. LOL
