Did you field charge the battery pack?

Sounds like you need to invest in a cycler!!

I fast charge all my packs and they all live just fine.

fuse has been retired, flown about 5 years was very oil soaked, split, delaminated, ect from F1 to F3 ...tail has been cut at f4 for a wall trophy or trailer hitch plug

A cycler won't necessarily solve the problem. I lost my Sig Somthin' Extra last month due to a battery failure. It had been freshly cycled the night before, and everything indicated it was just fine. Got to the flying site, did my range check, still o.k. Fired it up, taxied out, did my take off run into a nice 90 vertical...then no control at all (yes the pack was still plugged in after the wreck). The plane went up and over in a nice arch about 200 feet high(fortunately I hadn't given full throttle!!), and came straight down. Everybody thought it was just a spectacular take off stunt...until I didn't pull out.

NICE JOB BOB!

HOLY MOLY!!

I only heard tales of your recent crash, but I didn't realize
it ended up so badly!!! Nice job!

You might want to get your battery meter checked out.
I was pulling zeros when I checked mine at home last night.

That could have been your problem to begin with.
Besides the usual....

Do you need a waiver signed to fly a Cub too!

Jeeze!!!!

Ha ha.....

:D

Maybe not, what did you figure was the problem on yours?
If the battery cycles OK it should be good I would think. I know the cycler has brought life back into my packs, I was getting about 2-3 flights per charge in my 33% plane, after cycling I get 5, these batteries are a couple years old and always fast charged.

CRAZY4FLIGHT,
We have one of those h-9 piper cubs, the problem you described was probably not your fault, ours always wants to wing over, (flipp onto left wing) when flying, this plane unlike our friends gp cub is difficult to control, probably and inherent problem with washout etc... looking to get rid of mine.

good luck

john

I flew one for a whole summer with no wing over tendencies. It would fly very slow. Had an HP 49 4 banger on it.

Joeytrain 06-23-2003 09:54 AM

H9 Cub

Yeah, there is a couple of other guys at our club that fly them too.
I have never seen such smooth flight. I was actually thinking
of getting one for some "relaxing" flight time.

With a fully charged battery ofcourse...... HA HA.....

Crazy4Flight 06-23-2003 10:30 AM

relaxing

call your vet, and get prozac for your dog Ha ha ha
do they mak Cubs out of foam? ???

Joeytrain 06-23-2003 10:38 AM

Prozac???

Prozac???

The problem with my dog is that he is TOO happy!!! :p

He gets that way everytime he comes out to the field and

sees you crash a plane. Ha Ha.... 5 for 5 so far!

You might want to invest in more "foam" products. They

are cheaper and cost less to replace..... Ha Ha....

My Dad has crashed less planes than you this year. D@mn!!

THE FIRST CRASH I WAS SHOT DOWN who's fault was that?

Gremlin's CG and thows fianally sorted out.

CAP was engine failure on take off

CuB was battery failure

THE FIRST CRASH I WAS SHOT DOWN who's fault was that?

so what was the cause of your stik going in?

pilot error?? pilot error?? pilot error??

Joeytrain 06-23-2003 10:55 AM

Not

100 yards up and taking a nose dive straight down.
I think not.

Not even you or my Dad could do something like that!

How is that "foam" Gremlin doing that took a nose dive last time out?

the SHEETED GREMLIN IS FINE GOT ALL THE BUGS OUT OF IT

HAD TO ADD 1 OZ OF LEAD TO THE NOZE

Joeytrain 06-24-2003 09:59 AM

Good to hear.

Good to hear. Have you had any crashes out at the other field
that we can add to your plethora thereof so far this season?

Did you get the landing gear back in that Cap? That thing looks
like it will fly nice. Atleast once it gets more than 20 feet up.

Maybe you should come out to training night tonight..... I could
buddy box you if you want..... HA HA HA....

Funny thing.... Those foam planes my Dad flys can really take
a beating. Like a timex watch they are....
