RE: Movie Making Program
Get Pinnacle Studio 9 or 10. Another good one is Ulead Video Studio 8
Or, if your really looking for basic video then go for the built in Windows XP Movie Editor |

RE: Movie Making Program
ADOBE seems to making about the most widely used software programs within the digital arena. In my estimation, I would go to Final Cut Pro.
But then again, that's just my opinion, They have quite a few more, but that's the one I like best for doing what you have asked for. marwen |
RE: Movie Making Program
Isn't Final Cut Pro only for the Mac?
You could try Adobe's Premiere Elements if you don't want to spend the money for Premiere Pro if you are running a Windows system. |
RE: Movie Making Program
It could be?! I never gave it much thought. I have both MAC & PC.
I know this, that once you are into any application, they are almost identical. Some of the key functions might vary. And, almost, NOT all, every program is available for both formats. And that in in total referance to Mutimedia marwen |
RE: Movie Making Program
Just to let you know that the latest version of Premiere is only on windows. Adobe is not releasing a Mac version from what I understand. They don't want to compete against Final Cut which is only on the Mac.

RE: Movie Making Program
I have tried quite a few programs at various levels of use from entry to pro level. If you plan on authoring DVDs of movies but do not want to spend too much time learning the software - get Pinnacle Studio. It is very easy to use as an editor as well as creating menu driven DVDs and is relatively inexpensive. You can mix in photos, music, voice overs, effects, etc. with a ease. Check the system requirements for any editing program as video editing can really eat up resources quickly.

RE: Movie Making Program
In my experience as a graphics artist, I come across many ways of doing the very same thing.
What is most interesting, I have found that MAC users are completely devoted to that platform and PC owners, the same way. I have a client that does his own movie editing on his PC. For some unknown reason, about 6 months ago he decided that the program he wanted to use was on the MAC platform. (I won't go into that particular application) He also found that the same program was also on PC. While at a local retailer, he saw it available to practice with on a MAC. Even with his experience using this particular app. he opted to actually buy a high end MAC. (they are really FAST) Apparently, this devotee of the PC platform saw things you can do with the MAC that you cannot do on the PC. Again, I won't elaborate on the specifics of this but here is a prime example of a devoted PC user that actually said to me, "hey -- this MAC thing is GREAT!" All I could say to him was, "ah, gee --- ya think?" Merry Christmas!! marwen |
