IS or no IS
Just curious since photographing models is a moving sport in flight, do you all turn off the IS or do you leave it on? I just got my first IS lense with my 20D, a canon 28-135 and am playing with it on slower shutter speeds from 1/60 to 250.. and so far I think it is doing well... but will pictures be sharper without the IS? Just a question for all with that kind of glass.
Thanks! J |

RE: IS or no IS
Neat article, thanks for that! I can see for still life it is a plus then, but anyone use IS on moving objects?

RE: IS or no IS
I asked Sam that very question and the answer was Yes in mode 2 but above shutter speed of 1000 not necessary.
I use it but it takes up to a second to work so I need to remember to keep my finger on and let the AF track otherwise its actually worse. Does that make sense? |
RE: IS or no IS
I think it does, thanks!

RE: IS or no IS
The 28-135 does not have mode 2 IS (for panning), so no you shouldn't use it with models in flight.
