Default Reducing the Video

Hi Guys

I am not expert here but just got a Panasonic camcorder that records onto DVD. How can I reduce it to play on the net. The files are big. What is an easy way of doing this. Is thier software that does this. I am willing to learn.

I'll take a stab at this. It involves some assumptions that could be wrong. First is that you are running Windows XP. Second is that your camera came with software that allows you to put the files on your computer as either avi (preferable, but large) or mpeg formats

Windows XP comes with Windows Movie Maker. Start it and go to help and choose "Windows Movie Maker on the Web" OR, just go to http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/u...r/default.mspx . On that page is a free upgrade to WMM 2.1. Download and install. Run it. The last item on the left is "Movie Making Tips". The information you want is there.

Of course, you will need to download the files from the DVD to either .avi or .mpg format from your camera.

That being done, your good to go.

Thanks for the info. Ill give it a shot. I have a Panasonic VDR-m50pp camera. It does the little DVDs so downloading is no problem. I am running XP so Ill see if I can figure it out.
