Help with ZR200

My friend bought a Canon ZR200 and we can't get the computer to notice it when we connect it. When I go to Windows Movie Maker I press the button that says capture video from DV or something and it doesn't do a thing. Do I need a special program or something.

You may need to install a driver on your computer

I read somewhere you don't need a driver for ZR200 if you have a computer with XP
