Hello
im running a "big block" sport Jett 120L (cast case) in a GP Patriot XL
manual states 15x8 should be good for approx 10500rpm
What rpm range should I prop this motor for?
What prop would you recommend for top speed ?
i was thinking around a 12x14 APC (15% Powermaster)
can you give me a good starting point on prop size and rpm expectations?
thanks

Bob checks in here when he can. Break the engine in at the advertised running RPM using 1" less prop diameter than recommended. Be sure you have at least 20% oil. If you have specific prop questions for speed, just email Dub. It is no secret he builds some of the best engines you can get, and he will help you get the most out of it.

A 12x14 is on paper a good choice, it should be similar or a hair less load if the overall design is similar to the 15x8. The pitch speed is in the 140+ range so if the airframe drag is low enough that's where you're headed.
