KILLED 2 LIPO PACKS!!
OK, why am I so stupid? Flew the airplane, came home, pulled the packs out of the airplane but left them connected to the harness WITH the BEC wired into it.
Packs will not take a charge now and a 5S pack comes up to about 13.5 volts. It's painfully obvious to me that I have screwed up two perfectly good packs through my ignorance. I had never done this before, normally I would remove and separate the packs and had never had a problem.
I should be horsewhipped at dawn!

It might be possible to resuscitate them. Try putting them onto a 50 maH charge until they reach 3.0 volts, then you can charge them normally. I'd advise doing this outside on concrete (an underground bomb shelter would be even better....[X(]). I've read of this in the Ezone, but have never tried it.

The reason the batteries won't take a charge is because their voltages are too low, and the charger won't recognize them. As arx-n-sparx says, your best chance of reviving the batteries is to slow-charge them until they reach 3.0 Volts per cell. It's a VERY good idea to charge each cell individually. A 5S pack that's been overdischarged like this will almost certainly be out of balance.
From the looks of it, you (Dave) must have a UBEC, which is a separate gadget that allows you to power the receiver and servos from the main battery on high-voltage applications. Right?
Guys, remember that the ESC (or UBEC) is still drawing power from the battery even if the switch is turned off. All that switch does is control power to the receiver. You can suck a battery dry, so make sure you completely disconnect the battery when you're done flying.

The learning curve at this point is steep, but I'm happy with the performance I'm getting out of the airplane, so it's worth it. Guess I'll go buy some more fuel (batteries) ;>)).

Matt, you're correct about the UBEC. I didn't even think about leaving it hooked up until I tried to recharge the packs and the Schultze popped up and said "wrong cell count" Think I could drop it back to 4S and hit it for awhile and see what happens? (outside of course).
I've also heard from a couple of guys that using the UBEC will crash your airplane if a cell goes open in the pack. With the multi pack harness I'm using I would think that all the packs would have to go open before this would happen. Correct, or have I gone stupid again?

YS? BATTERIES? Whatever could you mean??????????
If we get the YS factory interested in EP, I'll bet they will figure a way to make more ponies than any other manufacturer!!
