what size prop for gee bee electric
I'm converting a Great Planes Gee Bee ARF to electric with a Hacker C50 10L Acro, Hacker Master 70 ESC and a Thunder Power TP8000 5S4P li-poly pac .This is my first electric and I'm not quite sure how to choose the right PROP.

RE: what size prop for gee bee electric
well, I converted the same plane with an axi 4130/16 and used a 15*8 apc on a 7S2P setup.
I am afraid on 5S you will not have enough amps as this plane is quite heavy (close to 12 Lbs)

Thanks for the replie. How do you like your electric Gee Bee. Does it perform any where near the O.S.120 plane, I have the same plane with theO.S.120 and I love it. I'm building the electric for one of the club members.
Thanks, Tom Murray

RE: what size prop for gee bee electric
unfortunately, it is down...RIP
It was too much nose heavy (cells where inside the cowl) and I just performed 3 flights before she went into a spin...
Power was ok, in flight, but I used flaperons for take off, which helped a lot.
I found the lg axles were ez to move right or left too.
I will settle down now to an easier plane: the at-6 of hangar 9 with only 6S (it is lighter) and a P51 miss america from the same manufacturer.

Luc-DCU,
Sorry you lost that beautiful GEE BEE. Your choices for a new project sound great! I haven't got the electric GEE BEE flying yet but i'll take your experiance into careful consideration.
Thanks again
