Default How To Measure Voltage

Hi Everyone,
Not really new to electric flight but new to Lipo's and such. Can anyone tell me how to use a volt meter to check voltage. And are their any good websites that show you how to use a volt meter. Thanks for your help!

Default RE: How To Measure Voltage

Set the volt meter to the range that includes the voltage to be measured.
Touch the red probe of the volt meter to the positive (plus) battery terminal.
Touch the black probe of the volt meter to the negative (minus) battery terminal.
Read the voltage on the meter.

Do not allow the two meter probes to touch while they are in contact with the battery terminals! This will cause large sparks and may damage the battery.

Good luck.

Default RE: How To Measure Voltage

It is very easy to short out the battery using a standard voltmeter to measure pack voltage, so I do not recomend doing it this way. A better way is to either get a wattmeter or a tool like the Cellspy (both available in the accessories page of our website) that actually has plugs for the battery. This prevents the possibility of shorts.

If you are dead set on using your volt meter just set it to DC voltage and the appropriate voltage (probably 20V). Touch the leads to the terminals in the plug.
